5 Stars. I don't have much to say as the knife speaks for itself. I dare to say that no one will be unhappy with this knife as it is simply a great value.

The knife comes razor sharp. The sharpest knife I ever gotten as it comes from the factory. It's a super lightweight knife for its size and with a beautiful shape. I have the foliage green with Kraton handle and plastic sheath.

You can feel the quality in the construction and materials from the tip of the blade until the handle and the sheath. It just gives you good vibes, great balance, strength, and high quality for what you pay.

The sheath is It is self locking and it lets the knife slide in and out smoothly as there is enough space. When the knife gets locked there is no movement or wobble at all. There is a plastic buckle on the sheath belt loop that I haven't found a practical use for it.

It chops well, slices like a champ and pierce furiously. Whether to use it for combat, survival, bushcrafting, or camping it is an excellent knife!

i had a similar military knife for years that i took everywhere it was my right hand man i had it for years it was falling apart but i still figured it was better than any new knife out there that is until i lost it on a camping trip in a foot of snow. i bought this knife knowing its quality but could it really match up to my old one? yes it can does and probably will continue to! its solid built comfy grip and tough as nails. love this knife and love knowing if i ever lose this one (cause it wont break) i know exactly where to get a new one!

All I gotta say is... WOW! This knife is awesome. I have heard the legendary name (Ka-Bar) before, but it wasn't until a few weeks ago I got to see one in action. A couple friends and I went camping in the Shenandoah in VA, and one of them brought along his Ka-Bar. It was the old-school one with the leather. We got to the campsite 5 minutes after the camp store closed so we couldn't get any firewood, and had to rely on scavanging for fallen trees and limbs. I had a 20" bow saw, and a coleman camp saw which we used to cut a nice 8ft. chunk of tree and bring back to our site. (BTW, bow saws suck! Definitely recommend something like Fiskars 9346 18-Inch Big Grip D Handle Saw over a bow saw... a little more expensive, but actually CUTS the wood.) We then used my hatchet to split a couple of the logs we managed to cut from the big chunk before my buddy got out the Ka-Bar. I would say using the "batoning" method with that knife took half the time to split a log with the hatchet. When it was about half-way through the log my buddy showed me how the blade was bent from the grain of the wood, but after the log was split, the blade was just as straight as when he bought it. Gotta love that 1095 Carbon steel. Since I do a ton of camping and was so impressed with the Ka-Bar, I immediately ordered one for myself when I got home. This one with the Kraton handle and the hard sheath is simply a work of art. I'm looking forward to the many years of use I'm sure I will get out of this knife.

i bought this knife to use as a hunting tool and on my latest hunt, i found this to be the most useful tool in my arsenal. i used this knife to gut, and butcher my deer, and i even used this to slice up venison in the kitchen when i couldn't find a sharp enough knife. the one problem i have with this knife is it seems to lose its edge kinda fast, of course i use this knife pretty heavily and with a few quick runs through the sharpener its back to its razor sharp profile.

First of all I must say that I am a Professional Chef and I handle knives for a living. This knife is a great all around knife. Not great for cooking, or cutting wood but serves the need in a pinch. Great for all around camp duties like making stakes or cutting rope. Nice strong, thick blade so I don't worry about bending or breaking it when I am prying with it. I keep this knife attached to my daypack when I hike the mountians here in Colorado. It sure makes me feel better when it is on my hip and I hear the coyotes running through the brush. I have taken my daypack and spent the night in the wood making a survival shelter with this knife. In an ideal world I would have both a smaller knife and a machete instead of this knife but when weigth and mobility force just one knife, then this is the one I take with me.

The reason I got this knife over the other fighting knifes is the sheath. Great sheath I have had it upside down hanging from the shoulder strap of my backpack, horizontally under my daypack, and of cours from my belt. Works great in all locations. Lots of holes so almost anything is possible.

Great knife and sheath.

Just a great knife. Sturdy and cuts well. I'd buy one again except that I anticipate I won't need another for a decade or two.

Just in case color matters to you for this knife, the one I got from Amazon looks like the full-size photo (a mostly grayish-green), unlike the insert photo of the sheath and knife handle, which looks MORE green than gray.
