5 Stars. I don't have much to say as the knife speaks for itself. I dare to say that no one will be unhappy with this knife as it is simply a great value.

The knife comes razor sharp. The sharpest knife I ever gotten as it comes from the factory. It's a super lightweight knife for its size and with a beautiful shape. I have the foliage green with Kraton handle and plastic sheath.

You can feel the quality in the construction and materials from the tip of the blade until the handle and the sheath. It just gives you good vibes, great balance, strength, and high quality for what you pay.

The sheath is It is self locking and it lets the knife slide in and out smoothly as there is enough space. When the knife gets locked there is no movement or wobble at all. There is a plastic buckle on the sheath belt loop that I haven't found a practical use for it.

It chops well, slices like a champ and pierce furiously. Whether to use it for combat, survival, bushcrafting, or camping it is an excellent knife!

You cannot go wrong with this knife, especially for the price.

My knife came SHARP. It easily sliced clean through standard printer paper without tearing the paper at all. It also sliced cleanly though several other things I had sitting within arms reach (Amazon's cardboard box, a coke can, and the plastic clam shell packaging that an Uncle Mike's Reflex holster came in). It also worked equally as well at shaving the hair off my left arm as my Gillette Mach3 turbo razor would.
FOLIAGE GREEN? There seems to be several comments talking about how people are disappointed in the color when they first see foliage green. Foliage green is not green. I would describe foliage green as 90% gray and 10% green. You can tell there is green in the color but its mostly gray. The foliage green looks better in person than it does in most pictures. I am including a picture I took of the foliage green Ka-Bar knife sitting on a late 1960s US military pancho liner I have from Vietnam, as well as a 5.11 tactical OD green 2" belt and a Condor Multicam 2 mag pouch. This should give you a very close comparison of the colors when you see them all next to each other.

i had a similar military knife for years that i took everywhere it was my right hand man i had it for years it was falling apart but i still figured it was better than any new knife out there that is until i lost it on a camping trip in a foot of snow. i bought this knife knowing its quality but could it really match up to my old one? yes it can does and probably will continue to! its solid built comfy grip and tough as nails. love this knife and love knowing if i ever lose this one (cause it wont break) i know exactly where to get a new one!

All I gotta say is... WOW! This knife is awesome. I have heard the legendary name (Ka-Bar) before, but it wasn't until a few weeks ago I got to see one in action. A couple friends and I went camping in the Shenandoah in VA, and one of them brought along his Ka-Bar. It was the old-school one with the leather. We got to the campsite 5 minutes after the camp store closed so we couldn't get any firewood, and had to rely on scavanging for fallen trees and limbs. I had a 20" bow saw, and a coleman camp saw which we used to cut a nice 8ft. chunk of tree and bring back to our site. (BTW, bow saws suck! Definitely recommend something like Fiskars 9346 18-Inch Big Grip D Handle Saw over a bow saw... a little more expensive, but actually CUTS the wood.) We then used my hatchet to split a couple of the logs we managed to cut from the big chunk before my buddy got out the Ka-Bar. I would say using the "batoning" method with that knife took half the time to split a log with the hatchet. When it was about half-way through the log my buddy showed me how the blade was bent from the grain of the wood, but after the log was split, the blade was just as straight as when he bought it. Gotta love that 1095 Carbon steel. Since I do a ton of camping and was so impressed with the Ka-Bar, I immediately ordered one for myself when I got home. This one with the Kraton handle and the hard sheath is simply a work of art. I'm looking forward to the many years of use I'm sure I will get out of this knife.

In my mind Ka-Bar fighting knives are the best so I wont dwell on this fact. I want to compare this knife to a #1263 Army Fighting knife. I own two Army knives one with serration and one without. I paid $56.63 for this knife which included a hard case and $86.79 for the Army knife when adding a hard case. I only see one difference and that is the handle on the Foliage Green is 1/4" shorter. I have large hands and it fits fine. Both knives fit well into the hard cases but I did feel a slight play in the Army Knife and absolutely no play in this Foliage Green model. The Army Knife weighed .6420 lbs. and the Foliage Green model weighed .6374 lbs., I weighed an Army model without serration and it weighed .6706 lbs. the difference in the weight is the length of the handle. The Army knife comes with a very nice leather sheath which winds up being thrown into a box somewhere as it is too nice to throw out. I will always use the hard sheath.

This configuration, as I bought it, is a great deal. I noticed that the price has increased over 20% and I don't see the hard sheath in the description anymore. My advice is that if that deal comes back buy it.
