This remarkable and groundbreaking study explores the author's view that there is a close correspondence between the basic tenets of alchemy and those of Jewish esoteric tradition, generally known as Kabbalah.

Kabbalah and Alchemy,

This review is from: Kabbalah and Alchemy: An Essay on Common Archetypes (Hardcover)
This book is far more than just a study that clarifies the true nature of both esoteric systems. As Schwarz writes, "Kabbalah and alchemy were instruments of an initiatory form of knowledge that sought to illuminate the way toward liberation from life's contingencies and contradictions." Schwarz, to select just one example, establishes the intimate correspondence between the allegorical significance of metals and the spiritual value of the Sephirot.
This important study, which includes forty-four graphic illustrations, will surely have a significant impact on our understanding of both alchemy and Kabbalah, and the now apparent inter-connection between the two.
