Book Description

September 2000
The Kabbalah is an ancient mystical tradition within Judaism, offering insights and inspiration that can be valuable to people of all faiths. Since its beginnings in the third century of the present era, the Kabbalah has continued to evolve, collecting wisdom, symbols, and lore which, when combined, offer an explanation of the divine presence and the relationship between human beings and divinity. This beautifully illustrated volume helps readers understand and use the Kabbalah's beneficial images, rites, and lore for their personal earthly and spiritual fulfillment. Explained and supplemented with full-color illustrations are the Sefirot, or Tree of Life symbol, the 22 Paths of the Sefirot and how they relate to our states of consciousness, and much more. This inspiring volume also suggests practical ways in which we can use the Kabbalah to help restructure our perceptions, achieve a positive outlook on life, direct our creativity, and focus our intentions in the course of everyday living. More than 300 beautiful illustrations.

This review is from: Kabbalah Decoder (Hardcover)
The Kabbalah is a mystical tradition within Judaism packed with insights and inspiration for all, and Kabbalah Decoder provides a key to understanding concepts of the Kabbalah and its symbols. The strength here lies in pages packed with photos of the symbols and guidelines to their interpretation. Suitable for gift giving, personal and library reference alike. Highly recommended for students of Judaic mysticism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Overview of Kabbalah, March 30, 2009

This book is an exquisitely beautiful overview of the subject of Kabbalah. While it doesn't go into depth, it is very comprehensive in its approach, with an extensive table of contents covering every aspect of the traditional Jewish study of Kabbalah, including its history, concepts, key teachers, sacred books, and much, much more. I originally found the book at the library when I was looking for Kabbalah reference material for a class I was teaching on the Tarot, and wanted to give my students a background on the Kabbalah and the Tree of Life. I became so enamored of the book that I ordered it from Amazon. In addition to the quality of the information, each page is beautifully illustrated with full color images on high quality glossy stock. There are also lessons in each chapter to help the student understand and apply the concepts. I would say that it is a must have for the library of any student of Kabbalah.

3.0 out of 5 stars A beginner's guide to Kabbalah, July 21, 2001

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Kabbalah Decoder (Hardcover)
A good primer for those that are interested in basic knowledge and historical roots for Kabbalah. Filled with pictures and charts, you can come away and actually remember what it is you read. I wasn't particularly thrilled with the attempt of the author to blend in other various religions as authoritative. Of course there are similarities but this hardly makes them legitimate. The beautiful illistrations are this book's saving grace. However, there are better books on Kabbalah.
