5.0 out of 5 stars This is where to begin and where to end studying the Kabbala
I almost gave up studying the Kabbalah in depth given the difficulty and general "user-unfriendliness" of most deeper books. Have you ever tried starting with the 3-volume "Wisdom of the Zohar"?? This book is astonishing in that while there is always more scope for study of this subject of course, Prophet's work is not only by far the best...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great sources, flaky Church Universal and Triumphant spin
I regard Prophet as pretty flaky, yet this book is much stronger than any of her others that I have read. (Perhaps this is due to the fact that much of this book is directly quoted from other, more reputable sources, on Kabbalah--including Aryeh Kaplan and Daniel Matt.)

This review is from: Kabbalah: Key To Your Inner Power (Mystical Paths of the World's Religions) (Paperback)
I almost gave up studying the Kabbalah in depth given the difficulty and general "user-unfriendliness" of most deeper books. Have you ever tried starting with the 3-volume "Wisdom of the Zohar"?? This book is astonishing in that while there is always more scope for study of this subject of course, Prophet's work is not only by far the best introduction to Kabbalism, but gave me the best idea of the subject's history and origins, the purpose and use of this esoteric system, and even topics barely mentioned elsewhere. For example, what did the original Kabbalistic mystics actually DO? How does the Kabbalah connect with the subject of twin souls? And how to use "the science of the spoken word" in conjunction with the Kabbalah? Finally, with this great guide, exhaustively researched, I feel able to read other works with true understanding and application.

I heard about Kabbalism and was interested in learning more about it so I came to the Amazon.com website to see if I could find a book about it. When I read the review of this book that another user wrote, I decided to purchase it. It was just as excellent as the other user had said it was. I found it explained many concepts that I had learned from the Bible/church and Catholic school in a way that made them make so much sense to me. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wanted to know more about those topics discussed in the Bible and who wanted to understand them more fully. I also enjoyed the book "The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" by Drunvalho Melchizedek that contained many of the same things that were in Mrs. Prophet's book and explained them just as well and she did.

I regard Prophet as pretty flaky, yet this book is much stronger than any of her others that I have read. (Perhaps this is due to the fact that much of this book is directly quoted from other, more reputable sources, on Kabbalah--including Aryeh Kaplan and Daniel Matt.)

Her choice of source material is excellent, leading me to want to read more of it, and her interpretation of the material is often insightful (though I can do without the connection of Jewish mysticism to the Ascended Masters and the I AM principle that are central to her Church Universal and Triumphant).

The end of the book provides some practical exercises that I have copied and added to my personal liturgy.

I think this book is very clearly written and easy for the average person to comprehend. I like the style in which it was written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fully quoted and simple, systematic view, September 7, 2006

From all the volumes written on the subject, complex texts and convoluted explanations out there, this book comes along as a very straight forward, systematic way to start to understand the Kabbalah. The most important features of this book are the extensive quotations from other sources and the simple explanation of the Tree Of Life with all the interconnections. It does give a unique perspective on the subject, but one that every student of this System should be aware of. As a first start, this book is excellent. For me, it brought into perspective the positon of the "Goddess" in our Era, and how compatible all traditions are, from the Big Bang to the Goddess movement. Because the purpose of the mystic is to reunite Shekkinah with Messiah inside of themselves, each one of us. The student should then follow with Ponce's book (Quest) and then go from there to more advanced texts. Be warned of the Chakra section on the back, it may not be fully in concordance with this system.

If you want to understand the Kabbalah read this book. The Kabbalah was never meant to be a mysterious secretive book. Whether you are of the Jewish faith or not this book is for everyone. Everyone should know their tree of life and their connection to God.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, November 26, 2010

This review is from: Kabbalah: Key To Your Inner Power (Mystical Paths of the World's Religions) (Paperback)
I loved this book! A friend of mine has been talking about the Kabbalah for years. Not being Jewish, I really didn't have much of an interest in the subject, but after reading the Old Testament over the last few months, I finally decided to find out what it was all about. I came to Amazon and found this book had great reviews and was reasonably priced.

Kabbalah: Key To Your Inner Power (Mystical Paths of the World's Religions)is wonderfully written and easy to understand introduction to the Kabbbalah. It contains an explanation of the Tree of Life and exercises and prayers associated with the Kabbbalah. This is not a book I will read once and shove on my book case. I will be referring back to this book routinely incorporating the prayers and decrees into my daily routine.

Thanks Mrs Prophet for a job well done!.

I have read many books on Kabbalah and this one is by far one of the bests! It is easy to understand and does a great job at going in depth into what Kabbalah is and how you can make it work in your own life.

This book isn't bad as a jumping off point for the basic structure and meaning of each aspect of the Kabbalah. Beware though that Prophet ventures into the realm of applying Kabbalah to the Eastern Chakra system and does so BADLY. All of Ms. Prophet's color correspondences for the the chakras are just plain WRONG. Skip the chakra section altogether.
