Since the book is about a complex subject, i expected a little more from it. anyway, it is a really good book, well written and from one of my favorite writers. Easy to understand, simple and somewhat superficial for those who already know kaballah. I would like it best if the book were more specific for kaballah students. As a introduction for others, it is very good, though.

A MASTERPIECE ON THE TRUE DIVINE NATURE OF LOVE,

What's with the poor reviews of this book? This is exactly the kind of negativity that prevents people from experiencing love.
So my message is this: Don't underestimate the value of this book! I bought this little gem of a book 4 days ago and just finished my 3rd reading today. As a dating/relationship author myself, I found the wisdom contained in this book to be especially relevant to me both personally and professionally. While I've taught many of the same principles to some degree, I was missing the deeper meaning. For example, I know that you should "love thy neighbor as thyself," but never had the understanding of why (because we are all connected). Some other things that I found profound were: (1) the meaning of life and the meaning of love are identical, (2) the misconception of love in our culture as it is presented to us in songs, movies, and celebrity relationships, (3) that love only comes when we rise above our selfish desires, (4) the origin of love according to Kabbalah, (5) the enemy of love is our own ego, (6) that we must resist and triumph over the ego in order to love unconditionally, and (7) a person's purpose is to fulfill the needs of others without calculations on what you get back in return. This book is a quick and enjoyable read. It is beautifully written and quickly paced. The examples/parables are clear and vivid for easy understanding. I highly recommend this book to anyone who reads my stuff or visits me on the [...] Mr. Answer Man message board where I'm a guest relationship expert. A deep understanding of this book from repeated readings and practical application will solve 99% of the problems that people experience in their love relationships.

Short, but sweet. Definitely not as in-depth as I was hoping for. It's a small book (physically) and makes for easy reading, just don't expect it to be packed with insights as you can read it in about an hour.

If you've read some of the small Kabbalah books, you know that they all say pretty much the same thing. This has some new perspectives on old material and is a quick read, but it's nothing to jump up and down about.

Kabbalah light. My seven year old enjoys excepts. Harmless and fun for those new to Jewish mysticism.
