5.0 out of 5 stars Particularly accessible and appropriate for the non-specialist general reader, November 5, 2006
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
"Kabbalah, Science And The Meaning of Life" by kabbalist and scientist Rav Michael Laitman deftly shares with his readers the hidden aspects of reality long known to students of the Judaic mysticism known as `kabbalah' and only now beginning to emerge from western scientific inquiries. "Kabbalah, Science And The Meaning of Life" demonstrates how by understanding the underpinnings of life, we can influence and affect the realities of life around us. Informed, informative, and highly recommended reading for anyone with an interest in Judaic mysticism, metaphysics, and personal spiritual development, "Kabbalah, Science And The Meaning of Life" is particularly accessible and appropriate for the non-specialist general reader, while holding immense interest and value for dedicated and experienced students of the kaballah as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seeking change, July 23, 2008
By

This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
We have all heard the old cliché, "change is good". What was communicated thorough out this book was how change is not only good but a must, a necessity for this world to be in balance with Nature. As you read chapter after chapter you find Rav Laitman speaking always of change. Never will you think of change in the same way.

We usually put the blame on a situation or others, thinking if only someone or something would change. Within only a few chapters, you, the reader will find out that is not the key to overcoming the issues.

Within these pages you will discover a practical method intended to help you through every moment of your life, that method is Kabbalah.

5.0 out of 5 stars The scientific study of reality provides the meaning to life, January 26, 2009
This is not an introductory book to the study of Kabbalah, but it does serve as an introductory book to Kabbalah's more technical and scientific aspects. Kabbalah is a science and this science explains the overall structure of the spiritual worlds. This book gives us a strong foundation to begin the exploration of the science and mathematics of our existence. There is nothing mystical or ethereal in these pages. The discussion relates directly to the nature of matter and specifically relates Kabbalah to Quantum Physics. A must read for all serious Kabbalah students and a reference guide to be used again and again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beyond Quantum Mechanics, November 4, 2008
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
Throughout the ages kabbalah has been called many things. Most often it is referred to as a religion or as mysticism. Even in the modern era most people don't know what kabbalah is about. Even some people who say they are students of kabbalah. In his book "Kabbalah Science and the Meaning of Life," Rav Michael Laitman PhD, sets the record straight - Kabbalah is a science. In conversation with some of today's leading scientists Rav Laitman explains how Kabbalah investigates nature and penetrates it's secrets to a much deeper level than the current theories of quantum mechanics. This book expands the reader as it expands scientific understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kabbalah Goes Beyond Quantum Physics, February 23, 2011
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
Early on in this book one finds a startlingly clear description of the differences between Kabbalah and quantum physics through a conversation between Dr. Jeffrey Satinover, MS, MD and Michael Laitman, PhD. Laitman then continues to lead the reader through the Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah, the Perception of Reality and finally Realizing the Spiritual Gene.

This book is well-written, thought-provoking, and a great combination of science and spirituality. The glossary of Kabbalistic Terms at the back of the book is excellent, providing a solid foundation to readers at all levels.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our lives do have meaning, July 12, 2010
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
I'm very enthusiastic about Kabbalah Science and the Meaning of Life. It starts with an abbreviated version of a talk by Dr. Laitman to university students that serves as an overview of the book and also shows how our time is a special unique time in all of history. This book confronts all the important issues of religion and science including quantum physics, free will, reality and the perception of reality in an easy to absorb fashion. The most amazing concept I found is that in fact we have what Dr. Laitman describes as a 'spiritual gene' that the law of nature uses to help us develop in stages unique to each of our perceptions of reality at any particular time.
Dr. Laitman tells us through this book that the modern science of Kabbalah (wisdom of Kabbalah) gives us the tools to attain the actual roots of reality from which we can grow and advance to attain the reality of the higher worlds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Approachable Work, May 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
Rav Laitman wrote a very approachable work where he outlines some of the parallels with the emerging theories of quantum physics and the thousands of years old theories of Kabbalists. The book itself is broken into four distinct sections - a discussion of Kabbalah and Quantum Physiscs - which is about a third of the book. THe next section is a brief discussion on the Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah. The third part discusses our perception of reality and the limitations of the senses. The final section discusses the "spiritual gene" and the pathway of spirituality and nature and how they intertwine. A good book for anyone interested in the topic.

Excellent source of information if you are interested in the science of the structure of the universe. Also, for those that ask "Why am I here?", "What is my life all about?", "Why now the current crisis?". I highly recommend everyone to read this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kabbalah Science and the Meaning of Life, February 20, 2010
This review is from: Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning (Paperback)
Throughout history our desires have evolved to fit the era we are in. In the beginning our desires were more simple, such as for, food, family. Once we began to obtain fullfillment from these desires then we begin to seek other desires to satisfy us, such as, being powerful, well known in the community, wealthy, etc. Then we began to need something else to satisfy our egos. We began to search for knowledge and wisdom so we could try to understand the world and our place in it. But again, we began to feel like there is still something else out there. We are still unhappy in our lives and as much as we have obtained of the previous desires we are still not content. KABBALAH SCIENCE AND THE MEANING OF LIFE explains what we are missing and helps us use our desires in a more altruistic way.
