5.0 out of 5 stars Never Enough Kaffe October 8, 2008
Format:Paperback
Although my taste can differ wildly from his, I never tire of looking at Kaffe Fassett's designs and getting a peek at how his mind works. I have all of his books, and this latest strikes me as a return to some of his strongest ideas. His multi-layered wall-of-color quilts are amazing. You think about color differently after seeing them (even if you think about color a lot). Old familiar pieced patterns have the power to surprise, when interpreted by Fassett.

As always, Brandon Mably and Liza Prior Lucy make beautiful contributions to this collection, and there is a beautiful quilt by newcomer (to KF's books) Jane Brocket. Fassett has an excellent eye for others' work, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kaffe does it again! November 12, 2008
Format:Paperback
The newest in the Kaffe Fassett book line is a new standard of color, vibrancy, and pure delight. When the phrase eye candy came into vogue, it must have been first said about the wonderful colorful interpretations Kaffe gives to the old art form of quilting, making it fresh and new. I found that having new contributors to the book makes it even more approachable. I can do it, too!! With his deceptively simple patterns, and somewhat crazy color and print variations, everything is possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars A luscious garden of quilts October 10, 2008
Format:Paperback
It's another winner from Kaffe Fassett! Like a garden, the variety of quilt patterns and luscious fabrics featured in this book are sure to inspire quilt artists of every skill level. Although I do not quilt (yet), I have learned to look at color in a different way with each of Kaffe's books. It is a feast for the senses! I especially enjoyed Jane Brocket's description of the creative process that went into the design of her "Allotment Quilt."

3.0 out of 5 stars Fabric showcase November 24, 2008
By Lizzy77
Format:Paperback
I have all of Kaffe Fassett's books and love his fabric however, I don't think this particular book is a good example of his work. He appears to showcase his fabric and has forgotten good design. After paging through the book numerous times I have to say some of the quilts are just plain awful. The Allottment quilt takes the prize for the ugliest. If you want large pieces of his fabric in a quilt, forget about piecing. Make a whole quilt. Kaffe needs to go back to the design board.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST September 19, 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is like a good husband ;) Seriously, it's such a pleasure to always come back to this book. It's like coming home after a long day and cuddling up with your husband on the couch under your favorite quilt! This book is one of my favorite "comfort books" with beautiful quilt patterns and designs.
You just can't get a better one than this & that's why I say this book is like a good husband because they're rare and comforting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Quilting Eye Candy... yum! December 17, 2008
Format:Paperback
Kaffe Fassett's Country Garden Quilts: 20 Designs from Rowan for Patchwork and Quilting is nothing short of eye candy!

Each time I purchase one of Kaffee Fassett's books, I'm sure he can't outdo any of his previous offerings. Wrong! This is a sumptuous collection of quilts designed by Liza Prior Lucy, Betsy Rickles, Roberta Horton, Pauline Smith, Mary Mashuta, Brandon Mably, Sally Davis, Jane Brocket, and of course, Kaffee.

The photography is unparalleled. Each of the 20 eye-popping quilts is photographed twice, and contains piecing diagrams, templates, instructions, and technical tips. The photographs alone will both inspire and encourage you.

Another winner, Kaffe! Thanks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Kaffe Fassett February 2, 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love anything Kaffe Fassett. I bought this book and then went on the internet to try to find a pre-cut fabric package to make one of the quilts. I did find a choice of fabric packages to make several of the quilts in the book. There are even packages available to make the quilt on the front of the book. The patterns are simple, but it is the fabric choices that really make the difference. If you are interested in trying the use of bright, bold fabric, this is a great choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous! November 7, 2008
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've just developed a taste for Kaffe's fabrics. This book is just the perfect way to focus them. The designs are one step up from simple as only a true artist can do. The simplicity of the designs let the fabrics sing. This is a great book for quilters and fabric lovers!
