I was one of the fans who struggled with the changes after Max left Sepultura. I could not handle the vocals, production and music at the beginning. I can now listen to those early Derrick Green albums and appreciate them years later. Well it has been 15 years since Derrick Green replaced Max on vocals. I think the transition would have been much smoother at the time if this album followed up "Roots" back in 1998 rather than "Against." This album is the most even release of the Derrick Green era. His vocals sound more focused and "fit" the music better than ever. Roy Z did a fantastic job with the production and especially on Derrick's vocals and the drums. He has really helped Sepultura sound "cohesive" again. The music is thick and heavy throughout. I won't break down each song and give a rating but here are a few highlights: the title track "Kairos" is very chunky and heavy. This song could have easily been on Chaos A.D. Derrick's vocals really shine on this track and is my favorite so far. "Relentless" has some crushing drums and great double bass from Jean Dolabella and sounds like it could come from the "Arise" album. Andreas Kisser's solos on "Relentless" are solid and really enhance the feel of the song. As for "Just One Fix" which is a Ministry cover, it is a faithful remake and sounds killer - fits the feel of the album perfectly. Overall this album is solid, focused, well produced and most importantly it has great song writing. If you are an old fan, give this album a try. I would highly recommend this album to old fans as well as new fans. I liked the last record "A-Lex" but this just blows it away. Good to see Nuclear Blast pick up this band and give them another solid chance. Pick this up, you will not be disappointed.

I got to admit after Sepultura's last couple of albums I was still not a fan but !!! This album is the Album Derrick Green had to make to fill his spot for Max.Andreas Has brilliant scorching solos and this is a return to form of Sepultura with fantastic Drumming too since Max Took flight !!! The opening track is enigmatic of both the roots album and song war for territory riff ! Great Album, cant wait for their next one ......

Been a fan of Sepultura since Beneath The Remains.Been a fan of ALL of their albums, with Max Cavalera and with Derrick Green. This album is a great listen from spectrum to point of no return (deluxe edition). All the songs have a groove to them that make them catchy and heavy at the same time.Andreas Kisser's guitar work is awesome as usual,Derrick Green's vocals are stellar -every song he brings something different. Paulo Jr's basswork is solid and Jean Dolabella's Drumwork is great. Many of the song's have an Arise or Beneath/Remains vibe to them especially in the guitar solo's.A lot of the songs sound like they were out of the Chaos A.D. era. The song "No One Will Stand" is their fastest and most aggressive since the Arise album. Great Album- hopefully their next will incorporate more of the Beneath and Arise era's.Also hope this album silences many of the critic's since Max and Igor left the band. It's unfair that these guys always get the backlash.Chris Barnes left Cannibal Corpse many years ago along with Jack Owen years later and the Corpse are still putting out Awesome album after album. Kairos- Solid Album from start to finish.
