I received this item and it was noticably defective, after I laid it on the counter. It rocked badly! So I set up an exchange with Amazon, and received the second one in the same condition. It truly is a nice and hard-to-find heavy gauge steel product, but if you're buying it to cool off anything liquid (especially a hot liquid item), then you may want to rethink this purchase. You or your counter may get scorched!

This is a very sturdy rack made of chrome-plated steel. The construction and wire thickness is heavier than most oven racks and the wire spacing is closer. I don't foresee having any problems with it.

As a bonus to anyone who has a Breville convection toaster oven Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ, the rack fits well in the broiler pan that comes with the oven. The combination rack and pan fit easily into the freezer compartment of a side-by side refrigerator/freezer. I have also used the combination to chill a small (4 lb) butterflied chicken in the refrigerator; this beats trying to make room for a half-sheet pan.

Unlike as noted by another reviewer of this product, the rack I have sits flat on all four feet on the counter top.

I wouldn't really call it a "cooling rack," rather a great thick chromed 10.5" square "cooking grill," instead.

Yes, like the previous reviewer, "Pen" mentioned, 11/17/10, it fits perfectly in my Breville 800xl toaster oven broiler pan. Most grill racks come in rectangular shapes and sizes. Finding an oddball size from Kaiser was great. Kaiser also has a circular 12.5" rack which conveniently fits the 13" Breville pizza pan too. Same metal gauge as well.

Despite being made in China, it appears to be very sturdy. Let's just see how well the racks resist rust in the next few months. Then I'll let you know, whether I'll be eating my words.

BTW, had to precisely search Amazon to find exactly what I wanted, a fault of their company's search system.

IMO, these two Kaiser products are some of Amazon's best kept secrets, i.e. low profit margin.
