These are great for handling pots or moving racks in the oven,

I've tried different oven mitts and I don't like the time it takes to put them on especially in a hurry and they are clumsy. Pot holders aren't the safest. These are nice because they go on in a second and can grab pot handles and do most everything oven mitts will let me do. You do have to be aware of the fact that the very back of your hand's exposed and if you're going to be in the oven for a length of time I suggest using mitts. I love them.

Good Concept But Not Versatile Enough,

I work in a research lab and we have silicone/rubber mitts for grabbing hot beakers. They're functional, but ugly as sin and seriously, who steals lab equipment to use at home? So when I saw these I thought they might make a good substitute in the kitchen. About the only use I can find for them is in picking up hot trays with your fingertips. The palmar aspect of the mitt is thick while the backside is thin. This may seem like an efficient use of silicone but I assure you it is not all in the right places. Allow me to explain: when grasping the handles on something such as an Everyday Pan, the sensitive backs of your fingers -- covered by the aforementioned thin silicone -- are likely to burn. Additionally the mitts are shallow, so the flexure does not rest in the crook of your hand (I'll upload a pic soon). If you are going to grab a hot handle with a full fist, the side of your hand will squish out and burn as well. So if you avoid grasping anything hot with the mitts and just use them for lifting trays by your fingertips, they are quite useful. However, if you want more versatile silicone-wear, perhaps some suggestions: 1) A silicone trivet such as the MIU Silicone Potholders can be used as both a hot-pad and for wrapping around hot handles. I like these because they are quick to grab and store easily. 2) A full silicone mitt such as the Orka 11-Inch Silicone Oven Mitt. It is ugly and dorky looking and will most likely prove to be an awkward item to store, but it will protect your hands. If you're particularly passive-aggressive and have a friend you really don't like, I would recommend these as a gift. UPDATE: pics uploaded

silicone finger protector,

Great for using on hot pot handles when you don't want or need an entire mitt. Even though they are one size fits all, they are not so huge as to be cumbersome. I would recommend them!

It does what it's supposed to and does it well. The only downside I have is that my hands are a little on the large side and they don't always feel like they're on all the way. I haven't had any issues of burning myself with them yet though and they're very space efficient as well as handle heat very well. I held a broiler pan straight out of the oven for about 10-15 seconds after it had been in for 15 minutes broiling on high and then the heat finally started to come through a bit but not even close to burning me. They're even easy to wash off as opposed to cloth mitts. I'd suggest these to anyone.

These have been used a number of times since their purchase and have successfully avoided having any burned fingers removing hot objects from the oven.

I would definitely stay away from these. I pulled out my cookie sheet with these one. The back of my thumb touched the rack, and I burned it. Yes I had a blister. Definitely not worth buying.
