Product Description
The Kaito Voyager KA888 is a sister product of Kaito's widely praised emergency radios KA007, KA008 and KA009. With its revolutionary design and versatile functions, it's an ideal companion for emergency preparedness purposes, outdoor activities as well as traveling. Specifically designed for emergency situations, the KA888 offers different methods to power itself. Those methods include AC/DC adapter (included), three AA batteries (not included), the built-in rechargeable Ni-MH battery which can be recharged from the AC adapter or by hand crank. At the heart of the KA888, there is an internal generator that charges the internal Ni-MH battery pack and powers the radio, flashlight, siren & etc. You can use the KA500 to receive a wide range of broadcasting including AM, FM and shortwave. Standard accessories include AC adapter, earphones & user manual. Radio Bands AM:525 KHz 1710KHz, FM:88MHz-108 MHz Two Continuous short wave bands: SW1: 6.00- 12.00 MHz SW2: 12.00- 18.50MHz

A Very good emergency tool,

I bought the Kaito KA888 radio a couple of weeks ago for
shortwave and in case of an emergency. It is a real nice radio for emergencys with its features, the compass,time, temperture,and a perfect bright light during night or black outs.The radio is pretty good and smooth.The KA888 has AM,FM and shortwave (4bands) with quality sound on FM AM. The shortwave is ok and not the most clearest,but this specialliaces on being for emergencys.Which its very good for that.I kept the radio for about a week and returned it for the KA077 emergency radio because it covered more bands like VHF,TV,and weather bands.For me I liked this one better for my interest and needs.I would say that both radios are nice.It just depends what you need and want.The KA888and KA077 are good quality radios for a good price.

Excellent FM Reception,

This small radio is the best I have ever owned . I use it in my bathroom because of its small size .The reception is clear,I have a Wave Radio and the FM reception is the same . I would higly rcemmoned this radio .

ordered the Kaito KA888 emergency radio for a present. It worked for exactly one day, then the AC adaptor died, making it impossible to use the radio on current or recharge it. Then the solar function stopped a few days later.
I have been in contact with the company and am returning it for a replacement, as that first day was wonderful. I'll let you know if the replacement one works. very disappointing so far.
