I'm a professional groomer. I needed a new large slicker brush, so I decided to buy the self-cleaning ones, small and large. Huge mistake for this brand and type. The bristles are thin and sharp, gave my dogs brush burn - even though I brushed lightly. Also, after about the second use, after pushing the release button - the bristles got stuck underneath the release plate. After trying to fix it, I did manage to push the panel back to the base, but some of the bristles got stuck underneath and now, it still works, but bristles still get stuck. I wouldn't recommend the self-cleaning brushes.
