5.0 out of 5 stars Incredibly, Insightfully Disturbing
This is one of the most thought-provoking and yet disturbing books I have ever read...... and the only book I've read where I would be tempted to stop certain people from reading it. I've never ever been a believer in books being able to influence the mind to the point of actually causing someone to act out (I'm referring to fiction here, not religious, political, or...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mysterious and sexual
Watkins weaves a tale of mystery, murder, and sex sex sex. Common ordinary people tap into their subconscious. Sometimes they like what they find, sometimes they do not. This is one of the most thought-provoking and yet disturbing books I have ever read...... and the only book I've read where I would be tempted to stop certain people from reading it. I've never ever been a believer in books being able to influence the mind to the point of actually causing someone to act out (I'm referring to fiction here, not religious, political, or sociologically oriented books), but if any book does, at least in my opinion, this one qualifies. I'm not going to specifically critique the book, or it's subject matter, but I am going to tell you that this book can lead you down a very frightening path of introspective thought. I first read it in 1996, and shared it with the few people I knew who I thought could both appreciate it and handle the subject matter. Their reactions were thought-provoking, to say the least.

This book may not have nearly the effect on you that it had on me, but beware..... if it does, you may not sleep well. For quite some time!
