Kali is a normal teen girl crushing on the school's hottest boy and mourning the loss of her best friend, Simone. Except for one small problem: Kali can hear the dead. And when she sleeps, she can even become possessed. Fortunately, her three "guardian" ghosts try to make sure that doesn't happen, watching over her and talking the dead out of taking her body for a spin at night. Sometimes they even succeed. When things get weird in Sepulcher Bay, a crazy adventure ensues, and they must all work together to stop a plan that will make all of the living citizens open for possession by the less-than-moral ghosts around them hankering for a new life.

The plot of this novel is awesome, with twists and turns that always surprise. Nothing is predictable, and no one is safe! Griffith writes unique, well-rounded characters that are fun to read and easy to connect with and root for. This book has humor, heart, a little bit of romance, a dash of teen angst, adventure, and a whole lot more packaged in one excellent read. Adults and teens alike will enjoy this book, which will leave you anxious for a sequel.

I downloaded Kali: The Ghosting of Sepulcher Bay for my Kindle because it sounded like an interesting story, and the price point ($2.99) made it a low-risk option. Also, I'd read the author's first novel, Beta Test, and enjoyed it enough that I wondered what he'd do with a paranormal Young Adult novel.

In short: It's excellent, and worth every penny and then some of its price. The novel is written as a first-person narrative from the viewpoint of its central character, Kali, who's an insightful, entertaining, and often hilariously descriptive narrator.

The first third of the novel sets up the basic premise of Kali's world, her friends (both living and dead), her crush, and the basic battle between the living souls and the dead ones that becomes the central conflict of the last 2/3 of the story.

There's a lot to like here, story-wise, and Griffith is a skilled writer who puts character first, making the stakes for Kali and her friends real in a sense that it's not just the fate of the living world that's at stake, but also the fate of friendships, families, and first loves that hang in the balance.

An overall fantastic read. Highly recommended.

This is a worthwhile young adult novel. Ghost stories are popular and this one is entertaining and exciting. The author's style is appropriate for a YA audience but also engaging for adults looking for a light read. He develops the plot quickly and paints characters that are believable and sympathetic. I like the touches of wry humor. Good pacing, story moves along nicely from beginning to end with enough narrative and description to keep the reader in the loop, but not so much that it bogs down. The ebook version is well-formatted with none of the annoying errors I've come to expect in digital books. Well done, I recommend Kali without reservation.

I was enthralled with this book from the first few paragraphs. It's an easy read, but the storyline isn't predictable as I've found with other books in this genre. The author is humorous, and does a great job getting into the head of a teenage girl. I want to read more!!!!

It's been a long...LONG...time since I was a teenage girl, but when I read Kali,I felt that Eric Griffith nailed his characters. The drama, the angst, the ghostly possessions. Well,OK, maybe I just felt possessed as a teen. But still, this is a great, galloping read with characters to care about, worry over and cheer for. Totally fun, lots of unpredictable twists and a healthy dose of sarcasm...a requirement for any teen-aged character.

Another sign of a great read: I keep trying to cast the movie that I hope someone is smart enough to option. Go buy and read this book...it's so much fun.

Even if you're not a YA any more (I'm definitely not), don't let that keep you from diving into this fun read. Eric Griffith writes like a literate roller coaster, and the well-imagined world of Kali's Sepulcher Bay is a pleasure to explore. Best of all, for me, is Kali herself: She's smart, funny, brave, and strong. Hope there's a sequel in the works.

I would highly recommend this book.
Characters, and story were well thought out.
I was surprised on the length of the book, normally YA books aren't very long. But I still finished it quickly, because I couldn't stop reading it.
Loved the names in this book: Napoleon, Kali, Hastings, Reuben.
I hope that there are more books for Kali, I already miss her.

I got "Kali: The Ghosting of Sepulcher Bay" for my Kindle on a recommendation from a friend. I thoroughly enjoyed the book! Fast-moving story, well thought-out and interesting characters, and a really cool premise. I read it really fast, as I couldn't wait to find out what happened next at each new plot twist - and twists there were! Well done and super fun to read. I hope that there are more stories on the way featuring Kali and her (both living and dead) friends. I for one would love to read sequels!
