A Perfect Little Pot,
By DebiDubya (Seattle) - See all my reviews

This little pot boils a large amount (2 litres) of water in just a couple of minutes. The cordless base makes it so much safer and easier to pour when it's ready, the twist open lid helps you to avoid dumping the whole pot on yourself and I like the auto shut off so there is no chance of boiling it dry or starting a fire. The only small criticism I have is that the twist open lid seems a bit cheezy - like it might not last as long as the rest of the pot does. I will update my review if that turns out to be the case. Also, you should be aware that the heating element is exposed in the bottom of the pot so don't get this one if you expect to boil anything other than water as you will coat the element with it. Otherwise this pot is exactly what I wanted/expected.

Perfect performance!,

This was exactly what I was looking for. I'm not too fond of "no-name" appliances, but was willing to give it a go since the other reviews were much better than comparable name brand products which were significantly higher priced.
Works perfectly as described. The large lid, though a little cheesy as others have said, makes filling very easy. Yeah, the element is exposed, so we'll all use our brains and not stick our hands in the pot (duh). This pot specifically says the coil is nickel, and not aluminum. I don't like to mess with aluminum cooking utensils, and am pleased. The water-level window on the side is LARGE and easy to see. You can even watch the water boil. The measure marks leave somewhat to be desired. They mark ".5 quarts, 1 quart, 1.5 quarts, 2 quarts." I would have preferred it mark off 2, 4, 6, and 8 cups instead. The marks are oval, so they don't really show exactly where "1.5 quarts" is. Also the max. and min. marks are sorta vague too. None of this is really a problem, but just a slight annoyance while I'm getting used to it. The on/off switch is big and simple to use, the "on" light is big and easy to see, the handle is comfortable and easy to grip, the spout doesn't dribble, the pot slips easily onto its base, the auto cut-off turns it off almost immediately after the water reaches a full boil, the safety switch doesn't allow the pot to be turned on when the pot is dry (unlike our old Sunbeam), and value of being cordless cannot be overstated. I followed the instructions to "season" the pot before using it (run a full pot of fresh water four times before the first use). The first run smelled strongly of plastic, but subsequent pots were odorless, and there is no lingering plastic smell or taste. Five stars. What more can I say?

I've had this pot about 6 months and have been pleased with its performance so far. I'm ashamed to admit I probably only use it twice a week, but it's very convenient when I need it. It heats water very fast and stays quiet, and can really speed up boiling water for pasta or other dishes to be later cooked on the stove. The lid seems somewhat cheap, but for the price I can't really complain -- most lesser-capacity 1 3/4 quart pots are more than twice the price! Note that the item description is WRONG: this pot holds 2 liters or about 68 fluid ounces, not 55 as stated.

Just Perfect,

I was looking for some of the features found in the more expensive models, detachable base, large capacity, the only negative point on this model is the exposed coil. It heats rather quickly, has a clear gauged indicator so you know how much water is left. For the price it is the best you will find

The lid is too heavy for the tiny and fragile joint, which is connecting it to the body of the kettle. I just got it new, I will have to handle carefully with it... let's see after few months of using..

This is the first electric kettle I've ever owned, and I'm completely happy with it. After looking at a whole bunch of other brands and models online, both on Amazon and other sites, I decided to go with this one because of the price and the great reviews other customers gave it. I've been using it every day for the past three weeks and this thing has been incredible. I have hot water in the morning for my tea almost instantly -- all I do is toss some water in there, flip the switch, and it's done in about two minutes. Granted, I don't heat a ton of water in the morning (I fill it to the Min line), but this is still faster than any stovetop kettle I've ever used.
The auto-off switch is phenomenal. I can flip the kettle on and go about fixing breakfast or grabbing the paper, knowing that I'm not going to start a fire in the corner of my kitchen if I forget about it or have to race over to the stove to stop some ear-piercing whistle scream at me first thing in the morning. I use this all the time to help heat up water for cooking as well -- pasta, potatoes, veggies, whatever -- I heat up as much water in the kettle as I can (the rest in the pot on the stove) and just pour it in the pot once it's boiled. Tremendously faster than throwing a whole pot of water on the stove on its own. The only drawback I've noticed so far is the latch you need to turn to open the top. It has a very low profile and isn't raised very much from the rest of the top of the lid. This makes it sort of difficult to get your fingers in there to turn it to open the lid, but I guess that's the point so you don't accidentally open it while it's full of hot water. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this kettle and would definitely recommend it to anyone who's in the market for one.

We use this product every day. Performs as expected and is fast. Too early to tell how long it will continue to perform. For now, we are very pleased.

This is a basic, straight-forward, easy to use electric kettle. It doesn't have the higher quality feel of a Braun or Breville, but for the inexpensive cost & free shipping it can't be beat. This has the older style cordless base (rectangular fitting under the handle instead of the center round fitting in the middle of the newer kettles).

If you haven't gotten an electric kettle, you'll probably wonder how you ever lived without one once you do. It heats water so fast, so easy, and you don't have to worry about microwaving and burning yourself. Not all electric kettles are the same though, and some of the less expensive ones will burn up. The most important part is to find one that is fully cordless from the carafe part and that has the auto-shut off feature. One of the most frequent problems with electric kettles is that they will burn up by heating when there's no water on it.
This kettle doesn't have that problem since it has the auto-off on it, so that even though it might heat the water, it won't burn up if it happens to be empty. The only thing I wish was different was that it had a longer cord, so I could have more choice over where to put it on the cabinets. If you're electric outlets are not easily accessible from your counter less than a foot away from where you put the kettle, the cord will likely be too short to use. Other than that, I don't know what I ever did without this and I even got my daughter one for Christmas!

Good Kettle for 19.99 but I don't know about 32.99,

I purchased this recently for 19.99 from Amazon (directly) and went back to get another for my parents and it looks like they don't sell it directly anymore (i.e., free shipping)! The "twist off" lid other reviewers have talked about is not really a big deal, actually it is a safety feature and I like it. . .it "was" a great deal for the price I paid but alas, it looks like no longer. The color is more of an off-white rather than bright white, so better than I expected.
