the photography, artwork, and text come together (no pun intended) to create a very special book that helps the modern westerner to understand this ancient eastern manuscript. some kama sutras rely on "shocking" photos to do the work, but this edition is intelligently written, and gives a great deal of background. in addition it puts the prinicples of the kama sutra into a modern context.

I was very pleased by this book. It is printed on a quality paper, with a lot of colorful pictures and photographs. It does not only writes and shows Kamasutra positions, but it talks about its history, sex in generally, it gives you lot of tips and references. It covers so much, that I don't need to buy any other books.

I have both of Hoopers Kama Sutra books, and I have to say that I like this one better. Why? you ask. Well, one main reason. I gave the larger book only 2 stars, I just thought that most of the stuff was normal positions and stuff. Well, this is the exact same book, but..... and this is a big thing, it is tiny. You can just stick it in a drawer by your bedside and flip through it if you want. I still stick by my original thoughts of the bigger book which is the same for this one visually, but it is a nice little compainion for your bedside table.

Although this book is fine for someone who hasn't experimented a lot with different sexual positions, I've found others that are more helpful, interesting, and well written. The positions are just that, with too much other stuff thrown in and not enough about the actual position. My suggestions instead would be Sex and the Perfect Lover: Tao, Tantra, and the Kama Sutra. Everything this book has, but much more, and better explanations of the positions.

I enjoyed this book very much. The format is very easy to read, lots of fun, and simply informative. It's fairly thick, but a regular size t oeasily fit in your nightstand. The nudity is not vulgar. If I remember correctly, all you see is breasts and butts, no genitals. So, if that offends you, avoid this book. Also, check out Pure Sex. This author is amazing!

I found this book to be an excellent guide to the modernized Kama Sutra. Filled with helpful pictures, original quotes and simple explinations, I find it is an easy read. Also there are a number of sections of background text, giving a bit of history or meaning to the positions, showing that the author really knows her stuff. Highly recomended.

I was expecting a simple, fun book about having fun in the bedroom. Instead, I got a huge volume of how to deal with relationship and intimacy issues. If you are having any intimacy issues, this is probably what you're looking for, but if you're just looking for something fun to help spice up the bedroom, look elsewhere...

This book was very educational and my partner and I learned a lot about each other

I bought the Kama Sutra for my boyfriend for Valentine's day. He was actually delighted, which I wanted him to be, while I was afraid it would insult him. Lovemaking is about experimenting and being comfortable with one another. The book does not depict ancient times like the other Kama Sutra books do. It offers illustrations, instructions and tips on how to make your love life better. Some of the ideas written are basic things we sometimes forget really mean alot to one another. The book is easy to understand and I really appreciated it's simplicity.

I found the photographs in this book to be somewhat disturbing. Not because of the nature, but because the people invoved seemed to be miserable. There is very little prose in the book.
