I received this after asking for it as a gift. The smell is true clove. Not fake or perfumey. It lathers well, and you get to enjoy the amazing clove aroma each time you use it. The fragrance does not linger long on the skin, and it will not leave you feeling dry or filmy. I love this and will definitely get more soon!

The Kama Sutra Mint Bathing Gel is awesome. The mint smell is very invigorating and if you let it sit long enough before rinsing off, there is a cool and tingly sensation. A little goes a long way, so I'd say this was definitely worth the buy. Enjoy.

And there is a reason: it isn't that pleasant. Kama Sutra makes good products, but most people will not be attracted to this scent. Good value at the price, but I won't be buying clove in the future.
