You can keep two small loaves or one large sliced loaf of bread in this bread box. If you freeze bread and then let it thaw in the bread box, that is not a good idea! What you will have is moist, moldy bread. Lesson learned at our house. It is perfect for keeping fresh bread fresh!

It is also handy for keeping the kitchen phone out of the way. Ours fits on top and then a little box of tea sits up on the top as well. It has a nice roll top, but don't try to put bottles of vitamins, etc. in this. We couldn't get ours open since the bottles moved to the back of the box and then the lid wouldn't roll back. Just in case you were thinking of using it for something else!

This is a rugged, beautifully designed and constructed storage box. I bought one several years ago, have been delighted with it, and have just bought a second one to keep my health supplements in (conveniently out of sight).

CAUTION: Do not confuse this product with a smaller and lighter Rolltop Bread Box also made by Kamenstein. It is only 7-1/4" in height, and has much less capacity. (I was shipped one of these smaller boxes by mistake, by an Amazon Used Goods supplier, who had to return my money.)

ALSO avoid cheaper, not-so-well-built lookalike products sold by retailers like Linens N Things, such as the Pomerantz Ultimate Bread Box, which I bought by mistake, and ended up discarding.

I just got this breadbox, and I am already in love with it. :) I could not believe the quality of it, it was OUTSTANDING! Also, the price was wonderful. If you are in the market for a breadbox, I would recommend purchasing this one!

I originally rated this breadbox 5 stars and over one year later have not changed opinion. In Ohio weather, which tends to be humid, it does a good job of staving off moldy bread. I love the flat top, which I tend to use to store things like small packs of nuts for cereal, pita bread and so forth, even use it to display decorative items. I keep it on full display on the kitchen table.

I was disappointed in this bread box. I paid full price for it (24.99) and it arrived broken. The roll part seemed flimsy to me and it didn't roll well at all. I returned it.

I just opened this package, and am online here at Amazon to return it. My son said it best, "I could have done better in shop class." Edges don't meet, rolltop does not roll because of gaps in construction. Terrible construction, defective in my book. I don't know what these 5-star rating folks received, I would love one of those, but this one's going back now.

This is a fine product that does the minimal it is supposed to,
but like most, it doesn't hold very much product! We usually have a loaf of bread (or two half-loaves), a package of rolls,
and a stack of tortillas, all of which should be able to find a home in the breadbox. Alas, two of these items are usually
sitting on top of the breadbox which is stuffed. I WANT A BIGGER BREADBOX!

I received this as a shower gift and it was broken when I opened it, I returned it for another one and noticed it was made of incredibly cheap wood which I didn't think was any stronger than cardboard.

It wasn't airtight at ALL. When I made my return I was checking every breadbox on the shelf and none of them rolled very easily, they all stuck a little bit. That wouldn't have been a problem if I'd have thought the wood was stronger than cardboard.

MAYBE for $5 I'd have kept it, but I returned it for credit at my (still, even after this) favorite store. :-)

This bread box is really high quality for the price. It is solid and heavy. The door opens smoothly and it is also solid. This box is lovely on my kitchen counter and I love the look of blond wood. I would highly recommend this box.

I received this bread box this morning. It does not match the photo shown for this item, it is completely rounded on the top instead of squared off at the back. I have an old one that looks just like the photo shown, which has lasted many years. Disappointed with this new style, it also is made cheaper than my old one. The handle now is very thin, the thickness of one of the roll slats, instead of the thicker wood handle it use to have that lasts for years.
