The height, tread, material and weight make these ideal boots for dealing with the snow and ice that I have in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I would highly recommend them to anyone who deals with inclement weather. Another plus is that they are extremely comfortable and warm.

Got these for my 12 year old. A heavy, sturdy boot. Though he has the feet of man (size 9 1/2,) he has the patience of a little boy, so it was important I got something he could get on and off quickly (Velcro, yay!) These are very tall, to keep the snow out of his ankles (love the drawstring at the top to cinch it closed) while he spends hours playing outside, and have a nice, thick sole. This is the second set of these we've ordered. His last set lasted four years (two years on older brother, two years on kiddo) and are still perfectly operational, although now too small. Great value.

I bought these cold weather boots for several reasons. I live in southwestern Ohio. And sometimes we get very cold weather with periodic heavy snow and ice (but, not as much as the central and northern parts of Ohio). Well, the first parts of my body that experience the pain of cold weather are my toes and fingers. And, when I go to the Ohio State Buckeye games in late November, I want to be comfortable watching the game no matter where my seats are (only Buckeye fans know what I mean in Ohio Stadium that seats over 106,000 fans). I solved the finger problem; but not the toes. I tried double and triple socks. But after an hour or more in below 20 degree weather; my toes still became numb. A friend told me that I needed a thicker sole boot with the ability to tuck my pants in the shaft of the boot. That made sense, so in my search I found these boots. They have about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch sole from the ground to the inner sole and a thick durable rubber covering of the toes, sides and heal of the boot. Yet, the boot is not like wearing ankle weights. The shaft is well insulated and comes far enough up your lower leg to easily tuck your pants into the shaft of the boot. What was a great surprise to me is that the shaft allows you to tuck your pants legs inside the outer shell of the boot shaft and inner shell of the boot to transfer body heat from your legs inside the boot, while keeping the cold out. Great concept! (probably would sell a lot more of these boots, if that where in the advertised description).

In addition to the games, I have a 16 month energetic dog, that is going to love spending more time at the dog park and hiking this winter, now that I have these boots. Too bad he can't write a review.

Finally got a chance to test these boots out in "real" snow conditions (more than an inch or two) and am pleased to report these boots met my expectations.

The boots are large (as expected for snow boots) and the materials and construction seem very solid. That being said, they are not heavy Frankenstein's Monster castle-shakers! Trudging through knee-deep snow, they were pretty light and if I got out of breath it was because I'm out of shape, but not due to these boots being too heavy. Additionally, it was about 10*F outside and my feet stayed warm with these boots and one pair of regular socks. I wore these boots with Guide Gear Fleece - lined Cargo Snow Pants Black and never had any snow penetrate in so my feet stayed warm and dry. I also got these boots because I didn't want to have to lace anything up with snow boots, and what I love about these boots is how easy it is to just slip my feet in with little hassle. Taking them off is a bit more effort and sometimes my socks stayed behind, but that's no big deal.

As for sizing, I wear a half-size and if anything, usually round up, but based on reviews, I stepped it down a size and that worked out perfectly.

Time will tell how well these boots hold up in terms of wear and tear, but I think the quality vs value on these boots is excellent for now and would recommend them.

These are great for shoveling snow or wading through water during a storm. They are quite warm and waterproof and I expect they will last for years to come. Thank you.

The boot are comfortable and warm. I got them just before NEMO came and dumped 28 inches of snow and they work great. Easy to takeoff. My size is 9.5 and I got the boot in 10 size and they fit fine.

According to the web page "...the Greenbay 4 features a removable Thinsulate foam liner and a lace-lock snow collar designed to keep warmth in and cold out. Rated to -40° Fahrenheit, "

The boots were not shipped with the Thinsulate foam liner, but with felt liners, and the felt liners were only good to around 0° Fahrenheit.

Amazon customer service was great with both orders. They suggested that I order the product again in the event that the felt liners sent with the first order were sent by mistake. Other than the fact that my toes would be frozen if I wore the boots at -40° Fahrenheit, I liked the boot.

great boot--easy to get in and out of. Is a high boot so no snow over the top of the boot. Very good construction.
It is a heavy boot, more than I expected, but satisfactory.

Nice boots but too small. The boots draw strings don't snug up against your legs . The high snow or rain would soak your feet ! The boot not being tight against your leg causes a " rocking motion " when walking . Sorry , I will be returning .
