4.0 out of 5 stars Warm, Stiff, Incorrect Amazon description
These boots are tall, well insulated, and I'd agree with the other reviewer's term "massive." They seem well-made and with the felt liners they are actually quite comfortable to stand in. Because of their thickness, they are pretty solid/stiff around the ankles (not hard like a cast, but like dense thick rubber). It is a bit awkward walking since your ankle does not...

3.0 out of 5 stars True To Size, Larger Than Life
The boot fit nicely, but it was massive. It had tons of padding that I do not remember reading about, or perhaps, in my fervor to get it at $16 instead of the $60 I would have payed elsewhere, I may have missed the text. Either way, I ended up reselling and getting a different pair. They felt sturdy and solid though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Warm, Stiff, Incorrect Amazon description, January 9, 2010

These boots are tall, well insulated, and I'd agree with the other reviewer's term "massive." They seem well-made and with the felt liners they are actually quite comfortable to stand in. Because of their thickness, they are pretty solid/stiff around the ankles (not hard like a cast, but like dense thick rubber). It is a bit awkward walking since your ankle does not have the normal range of motion to flex in, so whether they are most appropriate for your needs depends a great deal upon whether you primarily need water and cold protection or whether flexibility and range of motion are also important concerns. Note, however, that the Amazon description for the cold rating of these boots is incorrect. The Amazon site indicates "Comfort rated for -75 degrees F/-60 degrees C," but the paperwork with the boots (as well as the manufacturer's website) list them as "-40 degrees F/-40 degrees C." That's still great, but don't pay more for these than for Kamik's other -40/-40 boots just because you think you're getting more insulation. All in all, I'm very happy with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great boots - poor sizing, October 16, 2010

The boots are terrific - solid construction (made in Canada!), effective treads, good height (14.5" to the top of the rubber and another 2" with the fabric and drawstring). The only issue is with the size - they are at least 1 full size too big. I'm a 13 with very narrow feet and with very thick socks, my feet were still sliding all over the place in the boots. I wish I had ordered 12s - that would probably have been perfect for me - a full size down. Beware of this when you order this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Boot, March 31, 2010

My husband wears these all the time for shoveling snow. They're nice and warm. A bit heavy, but at least they're not going to spring a leak.

We're currently using them to slosh through the flood in our basement to do our laundry and monitor our sump pumps. Glad to have them around!

I wear this boot working on concrete in the cold and early hours of the day - my feet were always cold before -but they aren't anymore and they are also very comfortable and I have not had any issues with slipping. VZery impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Great Boots, November 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I didn't high expectations of these boots when I ordered them but when they showed up... Wow. I mean, wow. Talk about some heavy duty and heavily insulated boots. They are completely water-proof and the insulation on the inside keeps your feet (and lower legs) very, very warm. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an awesome pair of rain boots / foul weather boots / preventing any type of frost-bite on your toes boots. Also great for those who happen to be living in the arctic. They're seriously that warm.

I have nothing personal against the boots, they where just not fit for what I wanted. The padding inside is a little itchy so wear long socks or something. Super durable for heavy duty.
