First of all let me say another flawless delivery. I ordered these just two or three days ago and they're here. I checked this company out, its based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and yes, it would seem by all accounts that they really have been making boots for over one hundred years.

First of all let me say another flawless delivery. I ordered these just two or three days ago and they're here. I checked this company out, its based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and yes, it would seem by all accounts that they really have been making boots for over one hundred years.
This is definitly a boot for activity, as indicated by the height of the sole and the boot's overall height. The lacing system seems very secure, and there is room for loosening or tightening depending on individual size and preference. The 200 Gram Thinsulate lining I was probably the most wary of, but after having worn the boot outside in subfreezing tempretures, I can say that it's probably the right choice, I didn't shovel any snow at sub-zero yet, but I can tell that its going to be much warmer than what I'm used to.
To sum it up, in finding out more about the company, I feel that this boot is definitly a manifest of so many functional ideas engineered into the design, a great choice for anyone who might deal with the white stuff this winter.

4.0 out of 5 stars very nice boot!, October 28, 2009
By
First of all, I've had a pair of Sorel snowboats for almost 20 years. As I was digging them out of the closet this year, they fell apart. Not bad for a boot though. I logged onto Amazon and starting doing research and I realized that Sorel's aren't what they used to be - they're made in China now, and owned by Columbia .. and made cheaper. Then I discovered, Kamik.. yes, another Canadian company.. they just sound rugged and warm. However, I discovered, EVERY boat/shoe is made in China.
I bought a pair of the Nationplus boots and they appeared to be well made. I took them on a very intense multi-day hunting trip in Colorado and they worked well. I hiked for miles without a problem. They kept my feet fairly warm but the idea that they'll protect your feet to -40°F is just silly. My toes were chilly sitting in the woods for a few hours and the temperature was around 20°F. That being said, who sits on a log for hours? With light activity occasionally they'll be fine in the cold. We also tromped through mud and water and they are indeed waterproof. So far, I think they're a really nice boot. Only 4 stars because of the deceptive -40°F rating.

This review is from: Kamik Men's Nationplus Boot (Apparel)
With an unexpected bout of "global warming" this winter, these boots have been the perfect antidote. Sizing was perfect. Traction is great. I have been able to keep my feet warm and dry. I have used them for hikes in the woods and walks on the streets, both to my great satisfaction. A final note: I can still catch my grandkids while shod with them, but the race is becoming a close run thing. No buyer's remorse here. I recommend these boots.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain, April 25, 2009

This is a great snow boot at a bargain price. However, don't get the zipper version as it offers no adjustment. I sent those back and got these.

My husband loves these boots. They are comfortable and he has never had a warmer pair of outdoor boots in his life. I would have bought a pair for my son, but these went so fast I couldn't get them. They have lasted through a whole winter and still look like new. We own a horse farm, so they have seen it all. Great value!!

Just moved to Michigan from California, so naturally I needed a nice pair of boots. I saw these at a store, but ended up buying online. I also bought 3 pairs of pricey wool socks - 2 extra thick, and 1 regular.

I've tried these boots 3 times now. It's 30 degrees outside with lots of snow on the ground. Within 30 seconds of walking in the snow I could already feel cold on my feet. Within 5 minutes my feet are cold. My Ugg boots are warmer, but they are suede so they eventually get colder since they soak up the water.

I will try and wear 2 pairs of thick wool socks next and see if that helps - but I am suprised that within 30 seconds I can feel cold in the boot and within 5 minutes my feet were cold. I am not sure that socks are going to help.

I understand this is a $60-80 dollar boot and not a $200 dollar one, but I would expect these at minimum to keep my feet from getting cold in such a short time.

I am rating these a 3, the construction appears nice I'd give that a 4.5. I am inclined to give these things a 2 though since the boot is marketed and labeled with a -40 rating. There is absolutely no way. It is 30 degrees out, and my boot in the snow feels cold very quick. Maybe this boot would stay warm in a perfectly dry setting, with no wind snow or water at -40, but my feet are cold with expensive wool socks at 30 in what I'm guessing is 32 degree snow.

5.0 out of 5 stars great winter boots!, March 24, 2011
i received these for Christmas 2010 and wore them all winter for snow shoveling, dog walking, and such. I kept them in the garage so the snow wouldn't ruin the carpet. Even when i put them on cold from the garage, they kept my feet warm, cozy and dry. They are very comfortable and good looking snow boots. They also seem to be very well constructed and should hold up for many years. Would definitely recommend and purchase Kamiks again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as good as Sorel!, December 11, 2011
I have both these and Sorel Caribou boots and use them for winter camping. I got the Sorels on a super special web deal and could not pass them up even though I already had the Kamiks. I figured when the Kamiks wore out, I would have a replacement pair. Well, after years of use, I just started using both because these kept on going. Now I rotate using them and honestly, I can not tell the difference. If labels and status mean something to you, get the Sorels. If quality and dependability are your main concern, get these and save some money cause they work great!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Boots, May 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought these because I recently moved to Alaska and was in dire need of winter boots, after having walked through a foot of snow in tennis shoes. These did not disappoint. Kept my feet dry, the foam liner is super comfortable and super cozy, and these boots perform just as well as my dad's Sorels, but at a fraction of the cost. These boots are built to last, and next time the snow falls, I won't even hesitate to stride outside wearing these babies.

These are the warmest, most compfortable boots I've ever sen. They have bags of air inside to insulate the foot from the snow outside. There is no way that your feet will get cold when wearing these boots.
