The newly redesigned Double Tent Cot, brought to you by Kamp-Rite, the leader in off-the-ground camping gear, is an innovative advance in camping equipment. The Double Tent Cot is the next generation in product designed specifically with two people in mind.This new model now features a redesigned domed top. The additional 12" of headroom not only allows you to sit up inside the tent, but it also eliminates the problem of accumulated water if you are caught in the rain or snow. The self-contained Tent Cot puts you 11" over the insects, rodents and snakes. The Double Tent Cot, at 84" long, 53" wide and 36" high is extremely comfortable and roomy and supports up to 450 pounds. This model now comes standard with a 3/8" foam pad for added comfort and insulation against the elements. The powder coated light weight aluminum frame will not rust or corrode even under the worst weather conditions. All of our Tent Cots come standard with a heavy duty carrying case making it easy to handle while also protecting it during transport and storage. The Tent Cot folds down to a compact 53" x 32" x 7" and only weighs 42 pounds. All window and door openings have "No-See-Um" mesh screens, allowing you to enjoy the cool night air without the threat of mosquitoes. All openings utilize heavy-duty oversize #10 corrosion resistant nickel sliding zippers. They're easy to open and close and are color coded, with yellow mesh pulls on the inside of the tent and black mesh pulls on the outside flaps. For those whom are considering buying this product-you don't need another review that praises the ingenuity of the Tent Cot so I'll just give you the gripes.

1. Should have included a rainfly
For heaven's sake I could see sunlight through the sewn seams of the roof of the tent which were not taped. A rain fly should not be considered an accessory!!!!!!!!! Yes, I ordered one today.

2. The grommets that secure the poles (you insert the poles in these gromments at either end of the tent roof) for the roof were offset from the center of the strap making it difficult to insert the end of the poles. Quality control problem?

3. The roof would have been better (in my opinion) as a noseeem roof WITH A RAINFLY INCLUDED!!!!!!!!!

4. The instructions are terrible. The setup is simple if you have done it once or twice or have seen it done. Try to figure out the simple setup from the enclosed crude instructions and you will wonder how they can engineer such a great product and stop the process when they got to the instructions-typical old school engineers.

5. No UV protection for the fabric expecially for the rainfly (poor show). $13.00 for a bottle of 333 UV did the trick.

6. At 40+ pounds I would still be tempted to backpack this in for short trails (no ground sheet, mat, stakes, fly weight) but it is so wide. If they had a couple/decouple in the main tubes so you could fold it in half-that would be the ticket!!!!!!!

again a great product but it could be so much more with these little extras.

I just took delivery of a Kamp-Rite-Double-Tent Cot today and put it up a little while ago.In a word....AWESOME!!! It is built like a tank. The tent has a rubber coating inside as does the carry bag. Nice heavy/smooth zippers on both the flaps and the screens. Nice big windows on both ends as well as doors on both sides so if sleeping two there is no crawling over each other to get in or out. It seems larger on the inside than the outside! WELL WORTH THE MONEY in my opinion. No you can't stand up in it, but you CAN sit up. I bought it for "one nighters" where I arrive late to camp and wouldn't want to go through all the time,work and energy of setting up a regular tent when I plan to leave the next morning. After receiving it and checking it out, I don't think I would mind camping a few nights in a row with it in one place also. It REALLY IS as simple as un-folding it and placing the two bow rods in the roof! Only one small complaint/dislike....There is a support bar running down the center from head to foot.This may only be on the Double model. It's no big deal really if sleeping two and both stay on their own side ;-). I will be using a Coleman air mattress inside so I don't think I will be able to tell the bar is even there. Overall I'm IMPRESSED!

i have used my double tent cot twice since purchased.it sets up easily and quickly and takes down the same way.it is very sturdy and there is ample room for two people.i especially like the new design with extra head room and for water run off.did i mention it is very comfortable with air mattresses.the military uses these so they must be durable.my only regret is i didn't have it twenty years ago,it would have been great.by the way buying from amazon.com was not only easy and quick but i saved some big bucks.i will buy from amazon.com again. thanks,diana
