5.0 out of 5 stars I CAN SUMMARIZE IN TWO WORDS...BUY IT!
Kane Roberts just does not seem capable of putting together a bad collection. Anybody who loves metal, no matter what end of the spectrum, should like his work. 3.0 out of 5 stars It's not a bad album but...
First off this album is way way way to expensive, 70 bucks is way to much, anyways, Kane Roberts is one of the most underatted Guitarists to ever hit the world, he's so good at what he does, and his confidence is amazing, and on this cd it has some good examples of that like, Rock Doll, Tears of Fire, and Outlaw, but those are the only ones that stand out, this album is...

Kane Roberts just does not seem capable of putting together a bad collection. Anybody who loves metal, no matter what end of the spectrum, should like his work. His specialty; down and dirty lyrics and wicked guitars plus good vocals. This album appears to be a re-release, done prior to his 1991 "Saints and Sinners" that boasted the song "Twisted" which was blessed with some video play. Kane was part of Alice Cooper's band (as was Kip Winger for you trivia buffs) before he formed his own band. For reasons I don't understand he has remained relatively obscure. Now that most bands, even obscure ones and ones that are disbanded or even dead have websites I haven't even been able to find mention of this man until this album was re-released. Don't worry if the album's an older one, we all know some of the best are the older ones. Don't worry that it's a little more expensive because it's an import, it's worth it! As for other albums you may like if you like this band, well, starting in 1998 and moving forward into early this year there has been a phenomenal amount of activity within bands of this genre. I started cross referencing and came up with some great news! I am happy to report that Sebastian Bach (former Skid Row vocalist) has released his first solo album, and to date it is one I personally would rate as a five star album. Lizzy Borden's last release was 1995, Poison's and Quiet Riot's were 1996 so don't count them out yet. As for the rest...prepare to be surprised. The rest of these bands have new or re-released titles between 1998 and early 1999. AC/DC, Accept, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Bang Tango, Baton Rouge, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Danger Danger, Dangerous Toys, Def Leppard, Dokken, FireHouse, Great White, Guns 'N Roses, Heavens Edge, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Kiss, Kix, L.A. Guns, Metallica, Motley Crue, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Ratt, Kane Roberts, Saigon Kick, Scorpions, Slaughter, Sleeze Beez, Steelheart, Twisted Sister, Tyketto, Van Halen, Warrant and Whitesnake. So, to quote Quiet Riot, "Cum On Feel The Noize". (For those who are unfamiliar, that's how they spelled it on the album!) You can start right here with this album, "Kane Roberts"

5.0 out of 5 stars The very definition of 80s rock extravaganza !!, May 25, 2011

This is the self-titled debut solo album by American guitarist/songwriter Kane Robets originally released in 1987. Fresh from the ranks of shock rock legend Alice Cooper with whom he recorded two albums "Constrictor" and "Raise your fist and yell", Kane was offered a solo deal with "MCA records".

This debut album effectively verifies that beyond his stunning physique, Kane is a guitar master, accomplished songwriter but above all, a visionary of hard rock. By playing the album any number of times one realizes that the man understood perfectly what 80s hard rock/glam metal should stand for. And his music definitely portrays an impressive analogy of melody and attack-music-wise, romanticism and violent sexuality-lyric-wise.

Kane handles all guitars, keyboards and lead vocals, undoubtedly a guitar hero moving effortlessly from speeding riffs, to melodic soloing, to furious shredding. He is also a capable lead singer while his singing on this debut is especially macho (his singing style would become all the more melodic/AOR in the albums that would follow). Drums are performed by Victor Ruzzo, while fellow bodybuilder Steve Steele plays bass, in addition Kip Winger is credited of co-writing a couple of the songs with Roberts.

Favorite tracks include "Triple X", "Women on the edge of love", "Too much" and "Full Pull". Overall Kane's debut summarizes perfectly the musical and visual extravagance of 80s hard rock and hair metal; its honesty, glamour and shamelessness make "Kane Roberts" a classic 80s rock album.

4.0 out of 5 stars These guys could lift more in bench press then Manowar did in their hey day even throuh they are one man short!, September 30, 2010

This album has propably the coolest cover ever. Mr. Kane Roberts is firing his famous M-60 electic guitar in what seems to be a post-apocalyptic city in ruins. On the backround you can find two helicopters looking for Kane and his motorcycle.

If you take a look at the inner sleeve photos you can see by the looks of the bandmembers eyes that these guys mean business.

The album is produced by Michael Wagener - The Great - and the sound is solid all the way through. There are many very good tunes on the album and Kane has his old partners in crime Alice Cooper and Kip Winger to help out with few tunes.

Some songs can be found to be a bit sexist like Rock Doll and Triple X but I think that anyone that are ready to pay this much of a cd know where their money is going. My favourite tunes on this album are Tears of fire and Women on the edge of love.

So if you like 80's hard rock and you have all the basics in your shelf don't hesitate to order this great piece of hair metal memorobilia.

If it was re - released and brand new for about 13 bucks i'd buy it, but used for 70 bucks is crap for what you get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Far and away, THE funniest album ever made, ever., January 15, 2005
This review is from: Kane Roberts (Audio CD)
This is the most hilarious metal album ever written, I found this record in a used store awhile back and I'll often drop it at parties just to get everyone rolling on the floor. just check out the lyrics for "Full Pull" or "Tears of Fire"... hold on... what am I talking about?! the lyrics for every song are hilarious. extra credit for almost every chorus consisting of the band "shouting out" the name of the song ... check out the cover art of the "rambo of rock"... amazing. btw, the whole band are muscle heads. co-written by kip winger = 'nuff said.
