This product worked as advertised. I have burned at least 20 homemade dvds of my baby and mailed it to my parents. No problems. Thanks.

Great little device!! Fast enough, and simple. The only things I don't like:

To switch between stand alone and computer control there is a switch on the back. I use this switch a lot, and it's in a bad place.

It takes like a minute for a blank disk to become ready for writing. You can't give the run command until the disc mounts, so you are sitting there waiting. I wish I could just press the button and it would start when the disk becomes ready.

Simple to use and does a great job when the source disc is DVD+R, but when the source disc is DVD+RW (Memorex), it doesn't copy, even when the disc has only been recorded on once.

This is an excellent duplicator.. Works well, and then there is the extra software and connections.. Would recommend it to anyone..

The item did not work directly out of the box. When calling the company to discuss, the service department seemed annoyed by my call and was impatient in reviewing the returns policy... and even expected us to pay to ship the device to them to repair. Terrible policy.

In the work I do, I have a huge need to duplicate DVD's and I was hoping this machine would keep from having to tie up a computer. This machine does work and will duplicate the DVD's, however it is difficult to get it to the copy state because of error messages that appear on the screen. The controls (2 of them) seem to work only if pressed at precisely the right second to advance to the next section. The manual (which I requested seperately) does not help. It has very limited explanations of the functions and does not specify how to make things work. Looks like they could have been a lot more specific with the instructions. Like I said, it does work, but only after a lot of messing around. To be fair, once the DVD that I am copying is exactly the same type as the one I am copying to, it seems to go a little better. My thinking is that once everything is loaded and the copy button is pushed, it should copy. That is not the case.

I purchased this duplicator to copy family movies that I had transferred to DVDs. I made a big mistake by not getting around to using it until after the product return deadline. After trying in vain to copy my DVDs, a Kanguru rep concluded that my DVDs were incompatible with this duplicator. I ended up selling it on Amazon.com. The buyer has just informed me that the duplicator doesn't work with his DVDs either. This item was a complete waste of money to me. You may have better luck, but just make sure that you test its performance when there's still time to return it for a refund!
