I like this author Julie Miller. Her books are romantic not overtly sexual, at least in the Intrigue series. The mystery keeps me entertained as well. Would highly recommend her books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harlequin Intrigue at its best, June 17, 2011
This review is from: Kansas City Christmas (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this book. Loved it. It's an excellent example of what a Harlequin Intrigue novel should be: intense, emotional, romantic, and filled with tension from the first page to the last. I instantly fell for Edward. He pulls off the wounded hero thing so well that I couldn't wait to see how he came around to Holly and accepted her as well as her love. Although I was a little disappointed with the stalker storyline (it seemed tacked on and wasn't really explained), that was a minor glitch in an otherwise flawless romance. Miller's entire BROTHERHOOD OF THE BADGE series is worth reading, as each book is better than the last.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mystery and Intrigue, August 29, 2011
Loved this book!! It is the fourth book in the series - Precinct: Brotherhood of the Badge. It is filled with mystery and intrigue and full of secrets that are deadly. The hero has faced a devastating past and terrible loss but he is still determined to find the answers to who killed his father. At first he doesn't appear to have the strength to continue in life but then he finds his strength. He keeps getting knocked down and gets back up to fight again and finds love again along the way.

The story begins at the funeral of his father and his mother asking him find out what happened to his father's badge. Edward Kincaid ~ the oldest son ~ really doesn't want to get involved in detective work again but he can not turn his mother down and agrees to see what he can do. His first stop is the medical examiners office where he meets Holly Masterson ~ who is the medical examiner ~ and he finds out she is having troubles of her own with the evidence that is coming through her lab and evidence that is disappearing from her lab. She agrees to help Edward find answers and finds herself a target of more than one person. She is also determined to help Edward regain his faith in himself when it comes to solving mysteries.
