Just received the Klean Kanteen shoulder sling for $5.50 w/ free 2 day shipping. Despite many negative reviews, I figured how bad could it be for the money? It came in the same box as the Klean Kanteen 27 ounce bottle I had also ordered, and both were in protective poly bags. With trepidation I started the alleged horrific process of placing the bottle in the sling. I don't know what is different about the sling I got, but after carefully lining it up with the bottom of the bottle, I simply pulled evenly on the straps and it slipped right over the bottle! It is a snug fit, but that is good. It won't slip out on the trail, and since it is hanging at your side, you don't need to take it out of the sling to drink, just unscrew the cap and go for it. The cap threads on easily,and has a soft(neoprene?) gasket to insure a good seal. The bottle is sturdy yet light, and with a very attractive finish(I chose the black), and the best thing is no more crappy plastic taste! Both the bottle and the sling are five stars as far as I am concerned, and I am going to order another bottle and sling in the 40 ounce size.

This water bottle shoulder sling is great for carrying a water bottle when walking. Smaller bottles than the 27 oz fit comfortably in the sling. This is so much better than cliping a bottle to my belt.

This product was delivered promptly. Although it was initially difficult to insert the bottle in the strap holder, it definitely made it easier to carry over the shoulder while walking about.

I love this sling. It works great. I love stainless steel bottles but I like to rinse them in hot water between uses and stainless steel is a great conductor and it would burn my hand but this sling is just thick enough to protect my hand from the heat while holding it. It also keeps my hand from freezing when I fill it up with ice cubes and water. Many people probably buy stainless steel bottles but get turned off by freezing hands...I think all stainless steel bottles should come with a sling like this or some type of sleeve. I put this sling over my shoulder when walking so I can drink easily without slowing down--so much easier than having to un-clip a bottle from a belt loop. It was a tight fit but I didn't have trouble getting it on, once I got it on, I don't take it off very often--there's no need to since I don't put it in the dishwasher. Great price too.

This shoulder piece does do the job of holding the kanteen in something that you can carry over your shoulder, but it's such a tight fit getting the bottle into it that it's aggravating. If you're in a hurry to go, forget it -- you'll have to have time to fuss with getting it together.

I have a Klean Kanteen water bottle and could not get this sling on the bottle. The fabric holder has absolutely no give or flexibility, and no amount of effort was enough to get the water bottle into the sling. Maybe the sling they sent me was defective (it came unlabeled in a zip-top, sandwich-size bag). Returned for a refund. Love the idea of a sling, but... Don't waste your time or money until manufacturer improves this sling.

This stap works well for me. I lost my first one in a move and missed it so I bought it again. It fits to the bottle really tight and the strap size is great. I use it when I go hiking or on long jogs.

great idea for carrying your kk bottles. however the description should note that they are meant for kk bottles only. other bottles like camelbak will not fit. the sling is either way too small or to big for these bottles. the manufacturer should take note and market one for camelbak bottles.

The sling is useful if you don't have a pack, but gets in the way if you do have a pack. So if you're going on a really short hike without anything else or just a walk around town, this item is definitely a recommendation. If not, skip it and just stick it in a compartment of your backpack.

The bottles fit nicely in these, and the strap is long enough to put across my body. It works well for hiking, and it keeps your fingers from freezing off because the bottles so cold.
