Handy when setting up, practicing, downloading or during long shoots.

The bundle also saved me a few cents over the other brand selling each part separately.

This power adaptor matched to the camera works perfectly as advertised.

There are similar part numbers for different Nikon cameras. Make sure you buy the right one and it will work great. I use this with a Nikon D3100.

The naming scheme on these are way to similar to each other. Amazon is awesome and took this back with just a $5 shipping charge. I ended up having to get another one that only had a difference of one letter in the name. Be careful!!

I love being able to have this for indoor video shoots because my batteries just wouldn't last long enough on their own. Just a warning though...You will want to plug it in to a separate outlet or extension cord from anything else you're using. I had it plugged in to the same extension cord as my photography lights and it resulted in a "popping" noise in the audio when I shot my video. I changed it to a separate extension cord plugged in to a separate outlet and the popping stopped. The popping wasn't loud but it was noticeable. My subject was using an external mic that was plugged in to the camera so the popping isn't something you're going to hear unless you have headphones on while you're recording or if you're listening closely to the playback.

This is a welcome addition to my photo kit, especially for portraits. I don't have to rely on battery power or worry about swapping batteries in the middle of a session. It is a bit difficult to connect the cable from the battery compartment insert to the power cable. I was afraid I was going to damage the flat bladed connection with the force required to complete the connection, but I didn't. Works well. I wold like to see a longer power connection, but that's admittedly a nit-pick since an extension cord solves that limitation.

Good product. Cheaper than the original Nikon adaptor by a long shot. But only useful when using the D3100 to record/play home movies while mounted on a stationary tripod. Other than this... The adaptor was more of a bother to install rather than use 2 batteries installed in a battery grip. On a DSLR the video had to be interrupted every 10 minutes anyway.

This is indeed very useful for long shoots, especially for videographers. I used it for the first time shooting video for a two-hour piano recital program, and it kept my Nikon D5200 going throughout. I didn't need to worry about losing battery power. The 'battery' part fits nicely in the camera's battery compartment and also allows the door to close. I just hope it lasts for many more shoots to come.
