Product Description

1000 KAPLA blocks and two instruction booklets. The blocks come in a wooden pack on casters that is easy to displace. KAPLA is a wooden construction toy. The game is made up of a set of identical blocks made from pine. The unique size of the blocks, which are in the ratio of 1:3:15, makes them ideal for building many different creations. The KAPLA concept is simple. It needs no glue, no screws, no clips to fix the blocks. Each block is simply placed one on top of the other. The blocks are held in place by gravity and balance alone. KAPLA allows children to build, create and experiment by using their own imagination. With KAPLA blocks one can build alone or together with friends and family....

I bought this product 3 years ago for my 2 sons and even though the price is quite high, it's worth it. This is the only toy that will take my kids away from computer and Nintendo DS. They use all of the 1000 pieces for their constructions. This quantity is really the minimum. My sons are now 10 & 9 and I can still foresee many years of good play ahead. Once they're done, I keep the blocks for ompany.

I bought this for my 4 year old son and he LOVES it. While expensive, I figured since he would play with it for many years to come it was well worth it. With the 1,000 piece set the only limit is their imagination. We have had kids of all ages (2-14) playing with this. Even Grandpa had a great time playing with it. A great quality educational toy that will entertain your kids for many, many years.

I bought this as a christmas present for my nephew. I don't know if I should call this a toy or lego, but he simply loves it. It inspires creativity and can engage a few kids at a time. If you can afford the bog set, it is worth it. Otherwise, try getting smaller sets.

We bought him the smaller set a while ago and he asked for this set for Christmas. It has provided hours of creative play for him, and for us together. I think this is far better than more structured or restricted toys and it leave the imagination unencumbered.

This is such a great non-video based product. It's great for a wide age spectrum, and you can just see the difference in the cognitive processing when the kids are playing with these blocks compared to playing video games. It's something that they can do almost anytime with out objection from the parents, compared to video games - which seem to cause such a disruption in the way the kids brains work.

The blocks are numerous and precisely cut so that you can really build some version of anything you can think of. I think they are a must have for any house with kids up to 15 or so. I really don't' think there's a high end of the age group though. The large wooden storage box is great to store the blocks in, and is fairly easy to roll around. It is heavy though and can be difficult for the kids to pull over the edge of a rug.

It's easy to say that the kids almost never get in trouble from playing with these, as opposed to from playing or having to stop playing, video games.

We used this toy for our summer week long camp and the kids remained engaged and enjoyed working with these wooden planks.
