Too disorganized, get the Princeton version,

I wasn't impressed with this book. While a lot of information was included, too much focus was on the simpler concepts. I felt as though the information on more difficult concepts (like solids of revolution) was scant. On top of that, the practice problems were insufficient to fully grasp the Calculus. The chapters didn't seem organized very well (i.e., separate concepts were grouped together). The practice tests weren't much help either, as the AP Calculus AB exam questions were much more concise. Ditch this book and go for Cracking the AP Calculus AB & BC Exams, 2008 Edition (College Test Prep) instead.

AP Calculus AB 2005 : An Apex Learning Guide (Kaplan AP Calculus AB & BC)
Kaplan AP Calculus beats Princeton Review and Barron's by far. Great book with A LOT of exercises and complex questions. The explanations are brief (could be considered as short but for a full explanation you have the course book) but contain everything you need to know. I took the AP Calculus AB exam without taking the corresponding course but I got a five with this book. I recommend it to all. It's truly a great book. |
