4.0 out of 5 stars Only One Complaint..., July 13, 2008
This review is from: Kaplan AP U.S. History, 2008 Edition (Paperback)
This book was extremely helpful in preparing for the AP US History exam - I highly recommend it! I found during my review sessions that the Kaplan book did a much better job of condensing the huge amount of information required for the test than other test prep brands (which my friends had). The information presented was easy to understand, concise, and key terms were set in bold for easy skimming and review. I found the chapter and unit reviews especially helpful because they organized key terms. Going through and describing each key term aloud really helped me with memorization.

My only complaint was the lack of an index. There were several occasions when I would want to find a term quickly in the book but would be unable to locate it in the pages and pages of review sections.

I definitely feel that this book helped me to prepare for the AP exam and I highly recommend it to anyone facing the same stressful May experience. Good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Review Source to Exemplify Your APUSH Knowledge, May 17, 2008

Jonathan Worrel (Orange County, CA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Kaplan AP U.S. History, 2008 Edition (Paperback)
This book helped me, in my last few weeks of review before the AP U.S. History exam, to solidify my knowledge of events that I had a difficult time understanding. To identify myself as a student, I am a huge procrastinator when it comes to studying. I enjoy, of course, the benefits of studying as it feels great, but I never find myself getting around to actually doing it. This book changed all of that. All I spent was an hour every 2 or 3 days studying the material about three weeks before the test, and I found that I head learned SO much more than my APUSH textbook from school. The information in this book is detailed in a highly understandable format. I found myself circling words and phrases, and underlining key ideas and notions to help in the remembering process of all the given history. When test day came, I felt that I probably got a 4, whereas if I had never read this I would have probably gotten a 2. With more practice, however, a 5 would have been EASILY achievable. A++ highly recommended.
