Essentially a textbook on CD-ROM, this program is content-packed, but dry as a bone. Information, organized into dozens of topic areas, is presented via non- narrated text in outline form. We found a few diagrams, but no pictures or video. This type of presentation makes science review extremely dull. Students can take pre and post tests, but essentially just read through the material in between. The program's "extra" features are its best, and include study strategies and crossword puzzles. Also handy are the program's many tables and charts, such as the periodic table of the elements. Why this table isn't interactive, we don't know. This title, and the two others in the series (U.S. History & Government and Writing & Vocabulary) make very poor use of the medium of CD-ROM.

Some educational software is held to very low standards and
this definitely falls in that category. When I chose this CD
based on the brand name, I thought that it was a safe decision.
Instead, it was a complete waste of money. The content is easily
available from any public library.More creative content is to be
found on the world wide web and doesn't cost a thing!

My dad bought this for me and when I finally used it I was hooked. It reviewed like everything we'd been learning in my biology class which was great because I couldn't bring the textbook home and didn't like reading it anyway! This helps you make little flash cards and gives you little games to play and stuff. Since I like stuff being presented to me in this way it was love at first "play".

I lost it a couple years ago and never found it again which has really peeved me because I've been eager to dive back in! I never used the Chemistry part but it pry rocked too.

Is this the best program on this subject? No idea. But nonetheless I was happy.
