About the Author

Richard J. Lapierre is the Director of Emergency Medical Services for Brown University. He is a licensed Emergency Medical Technician, Cardiac, and EMS Instructor/Coordinator for the state of Rhode Island. He is also a retired Deputy Fire Chief from the Oakland-Mapleville (RI) Fire Department. In addition, he is an emergency telecommunicator for the Burrillville (RI) Police Department, where he also serves as chaplain and one of the SRT Medics. He is the author of the Kaplan guide to the EMT-Basic Exam.

This books has very similar questions that were given to me when i took the NREMT-B Very detailed. I like the fact that it will give you the correct answer then explain why its the correct answer and why the others are not very helpful. I would recommend this book to anyone who is going to take the NREMT.

Bottom line. This book is more then a Self Test book its also a good review sections.

Great resource - though a bit dated. I used this book for about 1 week prior to my NREMT exam. The computer test was quite different, but I passed. A good review. Book was in great shape and a good price.
