These "cards" are not cards. These are printed on flimsy glossy paper. If you are looking for sturdy cards you can bring around with you, these are not going to work for that purpose. They are way larger than they need to be which also takes away from their convenience. They have the drug classification and names on the front with the drug info on the back. If you are trying to quiz yourself to recognize drug categories by the drug name only (which is how they ask it on the NCLEX), these cards are also of no use to you.
I wouldn't have purchased them if I knew these things.

I have three main problems with this kit: quality, content, and accuracy! Problem 1: I'm a little disappointed that the "flash cards" are actually VERY thin, unlike regular note cards. The thickness of the paper is comparable to an advertisement in a magazine! Problem 2: The cards are lacking some very important information. For example, the cards do not list contraindications. NCLEX-RN practice exams DO ask questions such as "(drug name) would be contraindicated in which of the following patients?" For that reason, I'm assuming I WILL need to know contraindications on the real NCLEX exam. Problem 3: Adverse effects, which can be very dangerous and may warrant discontinuing a medication, are listed as SIDE effects. If you are not very familiar with a drug, DO NOT rely on this information. You need to know the difference between a drug's side effects and adverse effects to provide safe care! Also, practice exams often ask questions involving side effects vs. adverse effects, so I expect the real exam to do the same. I've also noticed that some of the medications that are listed as "Rx" (for prescription only) are actually OTC! However, there IS an upside here. The kit includes cards that list all 300 meds by type/class. If I don't return the set, I will just use those cards as my checklist for creating my own flashcards. That way, I will still know what to expect on the exam (according to Kaplan), but I can review ALL of the information that may be on the NCLEX. Based on what I've seen so far, I would rather just make flashcards using info from my drug handbook than trust the Kaplan cards!

I ordered this flash cards immediately after I took my exit exams for Adult Health 1. There were a lot of meds on the exams and I don't like the drug book cause it's too broad.
I was very disappointed after I read the reviews so tried canceling my order but couldn't.
Anyway I am glad I did not read the reviews before placing my order, else I wouldn't have bought these flashcards.
Yes the quality of the paper is poor, but the medications are well organized and has all the information needed for nursing exams and Nclex.
Yes the cards are large so u can't easily carry them around especially at clinicals. Just place the box on your study table and read them as needed. You can actually carry the whole box to school, or just take the few needed for the topic.
Great tool for nursing students.

This was recommended by my Kaplan instructor who does private tutoring on the side. The cards are easy and straight forward. Just what you need when you are trying to get ready for your boards.

The cards are much bigger than I expected so not as portable as I'd hoped. They need to have been hole punched so a snap ring can be used with them. Otherwise no complaints re: material/content.

These are great drug cards. Just a litte larger than expected. But the info I need is on it, so can't complain.

Nothing special about this box. It has meds and I just wanted a med reference. I am a full time nurse and never bought this as a student but decided to purchase this after finishing school. I know this sounds geeky but I keep it on the coffee table so I can randomly look through it while I am sitting on the couch :)
