4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful study aids!
For the price, these saved me the hastle of making the notecards myself, and while yes they are basic, its really nice to have hundreds of definitions in the palm of your hand.

1.0 out of 5 stars Paragraphs on Cards
I was expecting flash cards- quick concise info on front and back. The front is a term, the back is often a virtual paragraph. It does not test your quick recall. It's like cutting sections from the pages of a text. There are no diagrams, symbols, or bullet points. Just full sentences on each card. 1.0 out of 5 stars Paragraphs on Cards, June 20, 2007
This review is from: Kaplan New MCAT in a Box (Cards)
I was expecting flash cards- quick concise info on front and back. The front is a term, the back is often a virtual paragraph. It does not test your quick recall. It's like cutting sections from the pages of a text. There are no diagrams, symbols, or bullet points. Just full sentences on each card. Plus once you take some out of the little box and flip through them, they are well nigh impossible to get back into the box.
Other Kaplan resources have been helpful, but not this one.
For review books I've found the Examkrackers series to be the best overall.

2.0 out of 5 stars Kind of flimsy for the price, June 26, 2007

For the price, I expected these would be printed on a decent cardstock. Instead they are printed on some pretty flimsy paper. In addition, they are not hole punched (for a ring to organize them) or numbered, so it's difficult to grab a bunch for 'on-the-go' studying withing getting them horribly mixed up.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Waste Of Money, July 22, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kaplan New MCAT in a Box (Cards)
When I bought these cards, I really thought that I would be getting something that would genuinely help me study for the MCAT, but it turns out that I was terribly wrong. This is essentially a box of worthless definitions that can easily be taken from the Kaplan Prep book. Additionally, the cards rarely, if ever, explained/showed formulas. The size of the cards is also a downside. They are incredibly small and very easy to misplace. All in all, I have glanced at them and decided that they simply are not worth the trouble. So take my advice, and don't waste your $50.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like, June 7, 2008
This review is from: Kaplan New MCAT in a Box (Cards)
Ive had these for about a year now. Overall I like them. I have found them to be a great way to keep myself refreshed on hundreds of basic science concepts when I'm on the go or when I dont have the time or will to fully devote myself to studying, like if Im watching a movie. If i want to take some on the go I'll wrap a rubber band around the ones I want, usually like a bundle or 50 or so and throw them in my back pack or pocket. Individually their durabillity is not the greatest, but I find when I keep them bundled that they stay in pretty good shape.

when I bought these cards, the description was pretty brief - if it had said that the cards mainly were definitions, I probably wouldn't have bought them. but it didn't, and I did. they're ok but not exactly what I was expecting - I was expecting cards with questions, not just definitions. I'll use 'em anyway, just probably not as much as I would use other types of cards

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for when a flashcard is applicable!!!, October 11, 2010
This review is from: Kaplan New MCAT in a Box (Cards)
MCAT covers lots of information, so complaining about the amount of info on the card is really nonsense.

These cards helped me during my test prep. There is no shortcut to prep for this exam use as many tools as you can to help you.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it, June 18, 2008
This review is from: Kaplan New MCAT in a Box (Cards)
Ten minutes after I opened the box I found two cards with errors. I think the information presented is too basic, and a lot of it is not very well suited to flashcards. You'd be better off buying the book.
