This book is just simply amazing. I had received a 570 on my writing section of the PSATs so I was really worried about the writing test. I bought the book after reading all the great reviews here, and they are completely true! I studied for only one week, about 3 hours a day from the book (including the time to take all 5 practice tests) and I got an 800 on the actual test. A friend of mine who also used this book got a 750 on the it. The writing test does actually trick you on the EXACT SAME areas as the kaplan practice tests. I even felt like I was just taking another Kaplan practice test on test day. My only criticism of this book is that their score conversion on the end is way off. Collegeboard has a much more lenient curve. It's hard to prepare for the essay, but if you want to ace the multiple choice, this is definitely worth every cent.

This is a pretty good study guide to study from, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in getting a high, decent score. To reiterate what someone posted somewhere else, I also bought the Teaching Solutions CD in preparation for my SAT I, and SAT II, and the quality is no where near Kaplan at all. In fact, someone must had made this overnight just to get our $$! Kaplan, Princeton Review, the Official SATs, Barrons, are all good legitimate study guides, but not Teaching Solutions! Please spread the word.

I just took the SAT II Writing and prepared with this book. The questions in the practice tests had the same EXACT tricks as the questions on the real test. WELL WORTH THE MONEY>!

Get this book for the test, and another book called
SURVEY OF 300 A+ STUDENTS (by Kenneth Green) to get
the 4.0 GPA.

Then you'll have the 800 and the 4.0.

I took WRITING CLASSES and only got a 670 on the test (I took it TWICE) but after two weeks with this book, I GOT AN 800!!!! I recommend this to anyone who is frustrated with increasing his/her score. The practice tests are incredibly helpful but the Barron's exercises are pretty good too. Either way, this is a GREAT book!

This book completely did its job in helping me prepare for the test. I used it to study intensely for only three weeks before the exam and I was able to score an 800 on the test! This book was my only preparation for the exam, which is why I'm sure this book is incredible! What helps is that it teaches you a concept and then quickly follows it up with practice exercises (to which the answers are in the back!). I was amazing because many of the questions inside the book were EXACTLY like the ones on the test - they try and trick you in the same exact areas! Without a doubt, this book was incredible. I would recommend ANYONE who wants to score an 800 on the SAT II to buy it!
