Maybe I should read the small print, October 28, 2009
This review is from: Kaplan SSAT & ISEE 2010 Edition: For Private and Independent School Admissions (Kaplan SSAT & ISEE for Private & Independent School Admissions) (Paperback)
Only has 1 practice test for the lower level ISEE exam - I thought it would have 3. It has 3 SSAT and 3 ISEE practice tests, but they are of various levels. Probably better books out there with more practice tests.

This book is actually one of the better books for ssat.
I use this book after I use Princeton Review (most comprehensive in explanation).
There aren't many SSAT books out there so I would suggest that you purchase this one, and
the other ones as well (Peterson, Princeton, SSAT (from test makers) and McGraw).
If you have time, use vocabulary workshop for Vocab but if you don't,
use the vocab list on the back of this book.
PROS:
COMPREHENSIVE MATH & VERBAL EXPLANATIONS
Great Self Study Guide
Well Structured & Organized
Great Advice on Test Taking Tips
BEST VOCAB LIST OUT OF ALL THE SSAT BOOKS.
EXPLANATIONS for answers
GOOD MATH SECTION!!!
CONS:
SSAT PRACTICE TEST ESSAY PROMPT is way off.
Not enough Math Word Problems
Weak Essay Section

A necessary tool, January 9, 2010
This review is from: Kaplan SSAT & ISEE 2010 Edition: For Private and Independent School Admissions (Kaplan SSAT & ISEE for Private & Independent School Admissions) (Paperback)
My son had only 2 months to study for the SSAT. This book was excellent at identifying test taking strategies for him to quickly learn and use. There was enough review but not too much. It was most helpful in showing him what the real test will look and feel like so that this hurdle is cleared before test day. There were enough practice tests for him to take a stab at and clear explanations for each answer in case he needed further clarification. I highly recommend this book and as he is taking the test right now (!) he can't say but I think he would agree!
