This book was well organized. If you plan on visiting karachi or even have any ties to karachi, i recommend reading this book. It explains the history of Karachi and relates this to the modern situation of karachi. Its a great read if you plan on visiting this city; just so you have background.

5.0 out of 5 stars blurred memories of the city - a wonder to the youth, October 2, 2002

This review is from: Karachi, Magacity of Our Times (Hardcover)
This book gives a lot to Karachi which in recent times has been in extreme political turmoil, terrorism, and ill organised city planning has led one to think low of the city but this book tells us tales of our father's time, the usual hangouts, the hotspots and the lifestyles of the people here. The authors talk about Karachi in a sequence starting from its early inhabitants moving up to the british rule, their contribution to the country's money making city all the way to the current times.

Can be a good bed time story for the newer generation!
