As part of my list of prospective present purchases for the 2007 Christmas crush, I was on the lookout for some CD+G disks to supplement some DVD/karaoke equipment I bought for a family member. I stumbled across this selection while surfing Amazon and hemmed and hawed whether it would be worth the price. Fortunately the entire song selection was listed in the only review for the product (thank-you much to the reviewer "Southpaw"), but I still worried about the music quality, speculating at this good of a price, the quality must be pretty lame.

Well, I hesitantly pressed the one-click button, ordered this, and it arrived in time for a nice holiday get-together and karaoke blow-out a few nights ago.

And most importantly, I'm happy to report, I worried for nothing. I feared these would be a bunch of cheezy, "recorded-on-some-home-computer soundcard" quality songs, but they're not. They're at least as good as any I've heard used in bars or clubs, and some of the recordings are incredibly spot-on similar to the originals.

Given the fact I bought 3 other CD+G disks for about $30 bucks (with 35-45 songs), and you get 400+ songs on this for $50, this is a no-brainer purchase. And the selection is diverse enough to cover quite a variety of tastes to boot.

And the negatives?
- A few of the tunes are repeated on multiple disks ("Margaritaville", Frank Sinatra's "Summer Wind," among others)
- Some of the tunes DO sound like they were recorded with someone's cheezy home computer soundcard and MIDI
- There aren't that many newer songs nor any rap tunes...not a problem for me, but others might want to have some newer variety in the mix as well.

But those are MINOR complaints. For the price, it would be hard finding another collection as cheap and diverse as this. WAY worth the price.

I just received the CDG's today. They are great quality and a great assortment of songs. The review by Southpaw with the list of tracks was very helpful. I am very satisfied with my purchase from this seller. Would recommend.

I loved the collection. My family had a blast singing and dancing to the classics. Came in perfect condition and was delivered very quickly. A lot of music worth the price! The seller makes sure you are satisfy with the product and is willing to fix anything that your not satisfy with.

You cannot find a better deal than this! I just received my box set and tested it out this past weekend and was extremely pleased with my purchase. $40 for 395 songs, great quality, and I like the selection. I had previously bought 450-song box sets for $250+, a good portion of those is country, so I'm happy that the majority of this collection is pop/rock hits. Of course your going to have duplicate songs, but that's with any box set you buy. There's a handful of repeat tracks, give or take. If you don't like spending $35 for 50-song sets, you can surely trust all the reviews you found here and proceed with ordering. As for the 1-star rating regarding the song "Closer", I agree, if anyone ever selects this song to sing, consider yourself forewarned. This track is not family/kid friendly nor is it even pleasant for an adult to listen to for that matter, extremely offensive. Thanks for reading and happy singing!

This collection contains a wide variety of songs and genres, but they are spread across each CD so you'll be switching CDs a little more frequently than you probably want to. The image/lyric quality is also a little uneven: some are spot-on, while others don't always display the lyrics before you are supposed to sing them. The music quality is perfectly satisfactory with a few quite excellent covers.

I had no previous experience with Karaoke machines or formats. I purchased a used Venturer CD&G at a yard sale for $20, and of course it had no disk... So I thought I could resell the disk if it did not work, and bought the best I could afford. I hoped it would arrive in time for a family reunion.

No Problem. I was amazed at the quality and quantity of the music, and the rest of the family said it was such a great collection. The Graphics displayed on screen were colorful, and easy to follow. It arrived new, packaged well, and much quicker than I expected. A great investment at $42+ and will give years of enjoyment. Every type of music from John Denver, Cher, Kiss, Garth Brooks, Johnny Mathis, Armstrong, etc. Rap/Country/Jazz/Rock/Hip Hop and on and on. Wonderful Buy!

I was wary to purchase so many cd's for such an unbelievable price. I read the reviews in advance and decided to trust the previous customers that purchased these cd's. Everything they said was true. The quality is wonderful for karaoke cd's, which many times you never know what you're going to get. I felt like a kid at Christmas going through the cd's. I actually like the variety on each cd, because my friends are so ecclectic it helps me not to have to change cd's so much. Only minus is not having the cd artist list, but I'm going to print it from the previous customer. Thanks for doing this! My friend is having a surprise party for her husband, so we're hoping to Rock n' Roll all night!

I was a little worried when I ordered that the quality wouldn't be great for the price. I was pleasantly surprised!!!!! Great quality cds and plenty of song choices. I took it to a family party and we had singers from their 20s to their 60s! Some of the older people that never sang, sang several times and even stayed later than normal b/c they were having so much fun. It was a great party and this pack definitely added to it. I would highly recommend making this purchase!

I was pleasantly suprised at this multi-disc collection of Kareoke songs. It has Rock, Pop, Country, Showtunes, Standards, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Jazz and more.

There literally is something for everyone here. And although I am not into everything that is included...there is a majority of everything here that I do like.

The CD's are good quality and except for missing a song-book or a lyric book or even asong listing....its a good collection. 3-27-09
