This review is from: Karcher K 2.28 1,550 PSI 1.3 GPM Electric Pressure Washer With 20-Foot Hose (Lawn & Patio)
I picked this up at a little over $90. I used it for a 3-day heavy cleaning around my home. I'm very satisfied with it. First, if you've never used an electric pressure washer, the motor does NOT run continuously like gasoline washers. You hook it up, turn the switch to the "on" position, and it's ready to go. All you do is pull the trigger when you want water. About a half-second after you pull the trigger, the motor kicks in and you get your pressurized water. Release the trigger, and the motor stops, and the water stops. Simple.
Everything attached very easily. The pressure (1550 psi) was enough to get the dirt off my gutters/soffit/siding and clean my pavement without cleaner or detergent. It's also strong enough with the adjustable wand on max setting to clean decking, but yet gentle enough to not damage the wood. I did notice a little fraying when using the cleaning wand, but not much. One note: while this unit DOES have a siphon tube for using detergents or cleaning solutions, I didn't use any, so I can't comment on how well this feature performs. One drawback, which would apply to any electric PW, is that if you're going to move around a large area (cleaning gutters/siding around a house, etc.), it's a real challenge to keep the supply hose, electrical cord (and any extensions), and washer hose untangled as you move from location to location. That said, it's a relatively minor inconvenience. But this unit comes in really handy for the small jobs. It doesn't take up much space, and so far it's done everything I've wanted it to. I'm very pleased with this product, especially at the price I paid.

I was skeptical that it would clean a 17 year old deck, but it did. Awesome power! The only problem is there is not a trigger lock to keep the flow going. Made my fingers sore after a bit, holding the trigger so hard. Lots of pressure.

I've never owned or operated a pressure washer before and wish I hadn't waited so long. I didn't want to spend a lot, but am very satisfied with my purchase. I've only used it for a few days, but put it to a lot of work cleaning a huge patio, walkway, deck, garbage cans, railings, outdoor furniture, part of the house, screens and more. No detergent was necessary, so I did not use any. I saw some negative reviews elsewhere, but maybe they improved the product lately or I just got lucky. I did purchase a year warranty from wallyworld when I got this, but I probably won't need it.

We weren't sure what to expect when we bought this nifty little pressure washer from Amazon. Our original intent was to use it in conjunction with the T-Racer accessory to clean up a concrete deck, which we did and the 2.28 pressure washer worked great with the T-Racer accessory. Things we liked about this pressure washer:
1. It was easy to figure out how to set it up and use it. Neither of us had used a pressure washer before, but the instructions were clear and set up was a snap. 2. It is quiet and light. It was easy to move and not very noisy at all. 3. Everything that came with it was useful for something. As mentioned above, we had thought we would use the unit to clean the surface of our deck, which we did. But then we got curious about other things we could do with it and found that the variable pressure attachment that comes with it worked terrifically to clean cobwebs and accumulated dirt off of our exterior deck doors. The variable pressure wand was easily adjustable to modulate the amount of water pressure so that we didn't damage the paint on our doors. We were also able to use it to clean windows sills through our window screens without damaging the screens or the windows. There is also a concentrator wand that generates more vigorous pressure and we used that on stubborn deck stains and for edging work where the T-Racer wouldn't fit. Finally, the concentrator worked excellently at removing mold and mildew from the wooden slats that serve as the fencing for our deck. This will make refinishing and staining those slats much easier. We were really pleased with this product. We had thought when we bought it that we'd be lucky if it did one or two things fairly well to pretty well. Instead, we found it performed a bunch of different things excellently, so we're really happy with it.

The price seems ideal and so you think that you are getting a bargain, but THINK AGAIN. My hose broke and guess what? I tried Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace Hardware, Walmart to see if I can find a replacement hose and there is none for this unit. Why? Simply because the connection to the gun is not a screw on type that you can simply screw on another hose and go on your merry way. To the contrary, it is what you call a quick connect that nobody has anywhere. And if you were to find the hose then you have to take the gun apart which requires some special star shaped screwdriver to take it apart. Now, after calling Karcher they told me that the hose is $50-$60 dollars and that in my unit you cannot buy a hose for it. How nice! Now I am left with a working pressure washer but no hose to use it. At ACE hardware they had a hose and gun for it but it would cost me around $70. Therefore, I am simply going to buy another pressure washer from another manufacturer. Think twice before buying a Karcher product.

Perfect for cleaning the car , house , motorcycle ect . Always like buying the best but this time I thought why spend up for a 3000 psi pressure cleaner that will be more likely to breach cases and put water in moters , strip paint ect . I took a chance and love this it cleaned years of mold off a old car in the yard . Knocked down severel bee and wasp nests , took mold off the gutters . Cleaned up the lawn chairs like new . Worth every penny and its light enough for this old cripple to move around . I have a hose reel with 150 foot of garden hose and a 100 foot of electric cord so I was set up . Very pleased do not hesitate to buy . The rotating head works best for cleaning stubborn stains . We even used it on the windows we can no longer clean well as long as you have a squeegee on a pole you can use from the ground your all set . Good luck .

The Karcher pressure washer has good power for being so small. It does the trick and is very lightweight. The only downside is the pressure nossle does not seem to want to straighten out...not that big of a deal though. And always remember to push the reset button on the power cord before each use.

My husband was skeptical about the usefulness of an electric pressure-washer. And sure, it won't tackle the heavy-duty build-up that a gas machine will. But for a light-weight like me, the ease of use and portability of this electric model beats out any increased power capabilities - which are not necessary for the type of tasks I'll be doing anyway. So far I've used this washer on walkways and steps, aluminum siding, and a badly weathered wooden picnic table and benches. I've been delighted with the results on all of them.

This power washer works fine once you get it turned on, the problem is with the plug-in which seems very tempermental. If for some reason it detects something wrong then the switch device on the plug-in shuts off and won't work. I eventually got it to work, I'm not sure how? possibly there is a time element before it can be activated once it shuts off? Very frustrating!

I purchased this to partially replace a 15-year old German-made Karcher whose pump finally failed. I have another newer Karcher at a second home quite some distance away, so I decided on this convenient lightweight model. I could also easily it to clean our shower. (This saves hours of work).
Opening it up. it was obvious this was no German-made machine. It did work for several hours of deck cleaning. When I went to use it a week later, it powered up and 3 seconds later died. Not a GFI or circuit breaker problem. I think the Karcher brand has deteriorated over the past 5-10 years. I noted that Home Depot stopped selling them. Mine came from Amazon, so back it goes. I may try another lightweight washer, but not another Karcher. |
