1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS!!
Try two of this in a row at Costco, ending up returning both.
After 3 times of uses, start leaking oil and hesitated. Manufacture defect!! don't want anyone to go thru any hassle like I did.

If you have never used a Karcher before, any model will surprise you with how well it cleans, a purcharse you will not regret. I have used electric ones for years. The electric machines are superb, but this gas model having 2400 PSI can remove more stubborn material, runs without electricity, and can run continuously without the wear and tear that small models suffer. It has a Honda engine, a Karcher pump, and some domestic assembly onto a wheeled trolley. The trolley has stupidities... it is impossible to put in the motor oil without a funnel and tube, and draining the oil is worse because there is no hole in the base plate so you have to hold the whole at an angle. One of the accessories regularly falls off the accessory holder. I recommend this model only if the electric versions are too light duty or you are too far from electricity. So far it has proven very capable a cleaner and so far has been reliable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!, October 16, 2003

After owning the Devilbliss (Excell) 2400 PSI pressure washer from Home Depot for the past few weeks, I had a desire for more. The Excell had the 6.5 HP B&S engine. Don't let numbers fool you. The Karcher was unpacked today and immediately tested it out. Where the Excell fell short on cleaning a few weeks back, the Karcher "cleaned up" the remaining dirt.

Weakness: Oil filler hole. Problems that previous users have complained about - hopefully, there are no long-term reliability issues with this device.

Strengths: Power, power and more power. Lots of tips to "fine tune" your spray. The dirt buster attachment does great. Great price: $299 @ Costco.

I hope this baby lasts me a few years (or more). I love Honda engines - my Craftsman mower has one, too. Too many issues with my last B&S engine have me shying away from their engines.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Design Problems now Fixed, April 20, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Karcher G 2000 MK 2,000 PSI 2.0 GPM 87cc Gas Powered Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
After using the product for a number of weeks I am generally very satisfied with its performance. It appears that Karcher has addressed a number of the previous gripes. The tip holder now works great and the wand holder is not a problem. Adding oil is not a problem with the right funnel (your generic funnel won't work). I really like the 50' of hose, this feature with the accessories helped guide my decision. Honda engine runs flawlessly and is quieter than other Brigs or Techum engines. I don't know about the repairs available from a karcher service centers, however I was able to find several in my area by using Karchers web site. (In the event I need a repair) I was hesitant after reading the reviews about buying this but now I am glad I did.

3.0 out of 5 stars GREAT WASHER UNTIL REPAIRS NEEDED, July 10, 2007

The pressure washer provided excellent service for two years but when the water pump began leaking, the problem of repairing the washer have proved insurmountable.

First; Karcher provides "local" service centers (all were forty miles or more from my residence) but most seem to be persons with full-time employment who dabble in small engine repair in their spare time. The remainder have disconnected phones.

Second; The online seller that two years ago offered only Karcher pressure washers is not selling any Karcher products. That endorsement rings loud and clear that something is wrong with Karcher pressure washers.

Third: An investigation of pressure washer pumps uncovered that Karcher uses the cheapest pump available: Direct Drive Axial pumps. A new pump sells costs around $150-200.00 and other users discourage attempting to repair or rebuilt the pump.

More expensive pressure washers use a comet pump but it is not apparent that it can replace the axial pump on a Karcher pressure washer. However, one reviewer of the Karcher stated a comet had been installed on a Karcher with success.

This pressure washer is very good when it works, but unless you have experience working on small engines and/or do not need the pressure washer longer than two years, this is not one to buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Seems O.K., but..., September 4, 2003

Bought a 2400HH at Costco. Seems like a well-made unit with more accessories than other units at the $300.00 price point, but: unit was shipped with a defective tire. Finally (!) got through to Karcher and they sent a replacement. Then, the engine would not increase in rpm (increase pressure) when the trigger was pulled. Karcher's advice was to remove water intake pipe & spray WD-40 into it for 10-20 seconds. This worked great for about the same amount of time (10-20 seconds). This was after less than 1 hour (total) of use. I contacted Karcher and was going to take it in for service, but the folks at Costco said to just return it to them for an exchane, which I did. I'm a bit leary of the dependability of the 2400HH, but if Costco will keep takin' 'em back, I'll try it again. There just doesn't seem to be any other units at the price that offer as much. Of course, that doesn't mean much if the damn thing constantly fails.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed, August 27, 2003
This review is from: Karcher G 2000 MK 2,000 PSI 2.0 GPM 87cc Gas Powered Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
When it works it works very well, the design flaws previously mentioned are as stated. I have had this for 3 months and used it 3 times and the unloader valve has failed, what could be a ralatively easy fix is complicated by karcher. a google search finds that this is a common problem on this machine. It is impossible to obtain Karcher parts, they do not respond to emails and there number is busy. Other manufacturers in this price range have easily obtainable parts and are of equal or better quality. the fix appears to be to toss the Karcher pump and mount another brand on the motor ie; AR, Comet, Cat etc...

2.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't held up well to light use, February 13, 2007
This review is from: Karcher G 2000 MK 2,000 PSI 2.0 GPM 87cc Gas Powered Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I've been disappointed in this unit, mostly due to the cost cutting measures Karcher seems to have taken in making the pump section. The first one I purchased had a problem with the unloader valve from day 1. I returned it for a replacement, which worked fine for a while. Then after about a year of light use (once every few months) the unloader valve started acting up, and there is no easy way to remove it for cleaning or replacement. Karcher's phone technical support was almost useless. It sounded like they were reading from a script.

The critical portions of the pump are staked into place rather than being screwed in. There is also no way to easily change the lubricating oil in the pump section as Karcher didn't bother to tap the holes for the drain or fill plug areas. It is obvious on the casting where the drain and fill plugs should be, but their is solid aluminum in their place. Other signs of agressive cost cutting abound

The Honda engine is very nice and the cart is ok. After messing with repairs several times I decided to simply replace the pump section with a new Comet pump. It cost me another $150, but I couldn't see throwing a perfectly good engine and cart away with less than 50 hours use on them and the new pump is working beautifully. The best thing about this unit is the powerful and efficient Honda engine. The rest is bargain basement quality.

Just purchased the 2400hh at Costco. Tried it right away and was very impressed. No problems at start up or during use. I don't use pressure washers very often, but I can tell you that I have used a much more expensive Landa washer with a much higher hp rating and I could not tell much difference in performance. All the complaining about the oil fill is over-rated. I recommend this product, specially at this price point. Maintenance Supervisor in California.

1.0 out of 5 stars Update on my K2400HH, September 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Karcher G 2000 MK 2,000 PSI 2.0 GPM 87cc Gas Powered Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I finally got the unit back from the service center after they waited 3 weeks for parts. Based on their experience with Karcher, the service center advised me they will no longer work on them. With the "new" pump, the unloader now sticks whenever I release the wand trigger. I have to either reduce the engine RPM's or unscrew the nozzle to make it release. This happens EVERY time. Dealing with the company directly is a waste of time, and the service network is turning their backs on them. I can't emphasize enough how I regret the purchase.
