Convenient and cheap, June 27, 2005
This review is from: Karcher K245 Electric Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
Bought one of these because i got fed up of renting a pressure washer, and really did not want a gas monster washer.
No it is not as powerful as a gas pressure washer, that's one bad point, and also it has another cord (the electric) that can get tangled.
However, its convenient. Instead of having to lug around a large pressure washer, this one is easy to move and use. So you tend to use it more.
It's powerful enough. Removed all the pollen and dust and grime off my deck for painting and then some (yes some paint etc).
I then used it on some bricks, some walls, some concrete flooring. All were efficiently cleaned by this pressure washer.
So far, i'm impressed.
UPDATE: August 2006. The motor gave out. I guess it was not as good as i thought it was. Shame really.

Surprised by Performance!, June 22, 2004

This review is from: Karcher K245 Electric Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
Unlike most other reviewers who seemed to have had terrible experiences with this product, I have had wonderful performance from this little yellow machine. I used it to power wash the clapboards of an 1840 farmhouse in preparation for painting, and the Karcher took off all the loose paint, layers of black mold and gunk. 7 hours running straight and the motor is fine. Two of us used the machine with a garden hose and a very long heavy electrical extension cord. One person hung out of windows or straddled high roof peaks and the light weight Karcher made it all possible. I stayed inside, holding the machine on the window sill and feeding the hose and electric cord. My friends are now borrowing the machine. Curious if anyone else has had positive experiences with this little machine. Maybe I got "lucky". Afraid to recommend, but I must say-- my experience has been wonderful thus far. [I do not expect it to last forever--I bought it for this one job in mind.)

Karcher K245 Electric Pressure Washer, October 13, 2005
This review is from: Karcher K245 Electric Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I bought a Karcher K245 a while back and it has been pretty solid, in my opinion. This is my second Karcher unit, gave the other one to my parents. I'm kinda surprised at some of the comments on here. One thing you should not do is pull/drag a pressure washer by its hoses!!! I let my neighbor borrow mine and saw him doing that and it really ticked me. Common sense should tell you not pull something by its connection like that. If you do, it will break and leak. And for the person who said they didn't get much more pressure than a garden hose, they were doing something wrong. Sorry. Even an inexpensive pressure washer puts out enough pressure to hurt you if you are crazy enough to put your hand in front of it! I looked at some other brands but decided to stick with what I knew and I also read on Consumer Search that Karcher will exchange out (instead of waiting on repairs) any unit having problems, what more can you ask for on a unit that costs less than $100???
