Convenient and cheap,

This review is from: Karcher K245 Electric Pressure Washer (Lawn & Patio)
Bought one of these because i got fed up of renting a pressure washer, and really did not want a gas monster washer. No it is not as powerful as a gas pressure washer, that's one bad point, and also it has another cord (the electric) that can get tangled. However, its convenient. Instead of having to lug around a large pressure washer, this one is easy to move and use. So you tend to use it more. It's powerful enough. Removed all the pollen and dust and grime off my deck for painting and then some (yes some paint etc). I then used it on some bricks, some walls, some concrete flooring. All were efficiently cleaned by this pressure washer. So far, i'm impressed. UPDATE: August 2006. The motor gave out. I guess it was not as good as i thought it was. Shame really.

Surprised by Performance!,

Unlike most other reviewers who seemed to have had terrible experiences with this product, I have had wonderful performance from this little yellow machine.I used it to power wash the clapboards of an 1840 farmhouse in preparation for painting, and the Karcher took off all the loose paint, layers of black mold and gunk. 7 hours running straight and the motor is fine. Two of us used the machine with a garden hose and a very long heavy electrical extension cord. One person hung out of windows or straddled high roof peaks and the light weight Karcher made it all possible. I stayed inside, holding the machine on the window sill and feeding the hose and electric cord. My friends are now borrowing the machine. Curious if anyone else has had positive experiences with this little machine. Maybe I got "lucky". Afraid to recommend, but I must say-- my experience has been wonderful thus far. [I do not expect it to last forever--I bought it for this one job in mind.)

I bought a Karcher K245 a while back and it has been pretty solid, in my opinion. This is my second Karcher unit, gave the other one to my parents. I'm kinda surprised at some of the comments on here. One thing you should not do is pull/drag a pressure washer by its hoses!!! I let my neighbor borrow mine and saw him doing that and it really ticked me. Common sense should tell you not pull something by its connection like that. If you do, it will break and leak. And for the person who said they didn't get much more pressure than a garden hose, they were doing something wrong. Sorry. Even an inexpensive pressure washer puts out enough pressure to hurt you if you are crazy enough to put your hand in front of it! I looked at some other brands but decided to stick with what I knew and I also read on Consumer Search that Karcher will exchange out (instead of waiting on repairs) any unit having problems, what more can you ask for on a unit that costs less than $100???

We hove one of these pressure washers, and it has worked very well. We have cleaned our driveway, sidewalks, pool deck, and outside walls. We have even let two of our neighbors use it on their driveways, sidewalks, and pool decks. After many hours of use, it is still going strong.

It's spring cleaning time, so I bought a Karcher K245 electric pressure washer for $99.00 at my local Lowe's last Friday and used it to clean my pool cover, pool filter, driveway, trashcans, pool ladder and vinyl siding. For being a lightweight, inexpensive, quiet tool, it's very impressive and does what it's supposed to. Don't expect this pressure washer to be as effective or as powerful as a gas-powered model. Gas models start at $189.00 at the stores near me and they are noisy and heavy. This unit can be easily carried and the hoses and tips connect/disconnect easily. Overall, the unit is worth what I paid for it and I'll use it around the house and yard for light cleaning tasks.

We are a Screen Printing shop and we use the k245 to reclaim the screens for printing t-shirts. Were on our 3rd one in 5 years BUT we use this little monster every day for 2-3hrs strait and get about 18 months out of it, with a pricetag of under $100 or just $59.00 for a re-furb, it's well worth the money, I think it's lack of use that will kill it the fastest, so get out there and power wash people.

We purchased a Karcher K2.35 electric pressure washer from QVC March 12, 2004. We used it twice that year. Once to wash the house and once to clean the patio & sidewalk. We put it away carefully for the next year. Three weeks ago I pulled it out, set it up correctly and when I turned on the water (with or without the machine powered on) the trigger gun spewed water out from all along the yellow trigger. There was no pressure in the water coming out of the nozzle. We called Karcher thinking that there was a two year warrenty on the product only to find out that the trigger gun is considered a standard accessory or attachment and only has a 90 day warrenty. It will cost an additional $40.00 to replace the part. QVC stated that they don't get involved in warrenty issues on products, so they were no help. All they did was send us a copy of the manufacturers warrenty. This is definately a buyer beware product. Like a previous reviewer I had to give this product one star because, unfotunately, there is nothing less.

I purchased this unit about 8 weeks ago and since have been asked to use it each weekend by my wife. The unit has been great. I thought I needed a larger unit but so far for all my projects around the house it has done great. I have done windows, cars driveway and last weekend the garage and my wifes engine compartment on her jeep. I really think this unit is the right size for using around the house and have decided my brothers should be having the same fun each weekend that I have. This will be my gift to them this year for XMAS 06. Hope this was helpful.

Finally choose the model 245 at Lowe's for $108.00 because it was light and made in Germany. Wanted something I could pack up and take with me in a motor home. Used it today on my large deck to prep it for staining. It worked fine even though the sales people advise to get something larger. True the power cord does like to wrap itself around the hose, but the trade off is, it is so light and portable you can practically drag it around with you. The power was enough to clean between the planks and if not careful you could get down to the bare wood. I wasn't even using the attachment for maxium scoring. It also adjusts down and I plan on washing the car this afternoon with the lower setting. Can't tell how long it will last but talked to someone who has had one, 240 model, for 2 years and still going strong. We shall see.

Good Tool to Have,

This is the best thing I have bought for under $50 in a long time. I had some pretty bad mildew and mold on the sidings of my house, I thought it would be impossible to deal with them. I've been using all kinds of chemicals and detergents, spray and scrub the day lights out of it, but it did'nt work! Then I came across this washer, WHAT A BLAST! It was so easy to hook up, I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. At first, I did see some leak from the hose connector, but after I disconnect the hose and reconnect it, everything was fine. It must be my fault because I could'nt wait to try it. I turned on the pump and squeezed the trigger, I was so powerful I had to hold the wand with two hands. I was able to clean one side of the house with no detergent in 20 minutes. I fell in love using it, then wash the car, no soap! Everything works better than I though it would. Great investment!
