For large projects my Honda Gas pressure washer has given me years of great service. I wanted a dependable lightweight backup electric pressure washer which would be easy to move for lighduty around the house jobs.
After checking several internet comsumer reviews I purchased the K3.540. So far I used it once cleaning the sidewalks and driveway. The pressure washer did its job beautifully with easy assembly and no leaks. The top rated water cooled induction motor only runs only on demand. I found this shut-off feature to be really nice. When you release the trigger handle on the wand and stop washing, the motor shuts off which should give longer pump life.
The Karcher K 3.540 X-Series is an Excellent value for a lighduty electric pressure washer. This unit has higher quality components and seems to be better engineered than others at this price point.

I had this product for about 60 days, used it to wash my car three times and clean my patio and driveway. The pressure was great for an electric, very quiet. That being said, after a few uses things started breaking. In Karchers defense, the main unit itself was great. The pencil spray wand broke while doing the driveway, and the vari-spray wand broke the third car wash. So while its a great product, lifespan is less than adequate. Note: the wands can be replaced for a low price, but I wanted something a little more heavy duty. ProTip: Get a pressure washer with metal tips.

I own a gas powered 3000+ psi pressure washer. I use it for my big jobs like cleaning the driveway, patio deck and sidewalk (all at one time). I bought the Karcher for the smaller jobs or cleanup work when I do not need the speed of my gas washer. This washer does what I bought it for. It has enough power to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time without the effort of taking out the "big machine". It also has the right amount of cleaning pressure without fighting back like the gas washer does. If you need a big machine consider a gas washer. If you want something to clean a patio or sidewalk and are not concerned about taking a little bit more time, this Karcher will get the job done and make you very glad you bought it.

I had a Karcher electric for 18 years and it was a good little machine. I replaced it with this one and am glad I did. It works great and I am happy with the build quality. I hope it lasts as long as my other one did.

My unit, Model 3.540, arrived with a broken quick-connect fitting used to connect it to a garden hose. I contacted Karcher Support via their web site and they offered to replace the connector if I'd supply certain purchase and nameplate information. Just prior to receiving that offer, I tried a standard hose quick-connect I had on hand and it fit. As it was of MUCH better construction than the flimsy connector supplied with the unit, I told Karcher not to bother sending a replacement. Two things about this puzzled me. Why save pennies by providing such a cheap connector when nothing else about the machine hints of poor quality? Second, given that it was a standard hose connector, why quiz me about the model number, etc.? On with my story: Once I started using the machine at full output pressure, the output pressure and flow rate began dropping at irregular intervals. At first, things recovered quickly but, over several hours of use, the problem became persistent. I again contacted Karcher Support, describing the problem and, at their request, providing purchase and nameplate information. They responded that the unit was not repairable and I should apply for a Rapid Exchange, for which the site provided a form and instructions. I received a replacement quite promptly and it was left to me to scrap the defective unit. The new unit functions just fine. I looked through the reviews of this unit at the Amazon web site and few people seemed to encounter a problem as serious as mine so I've concluded my problem was rare. There were complaints of flimsy plastic parts and I suspect the hose quick-connect was the culprit there. I gave the unit only 4 stars because of the two issues I noted.Read more ›

My wife and I have a two-story house with vinyl siding and three pressure-treated wooden decks. It has been years that we have wanted to get our house pressure washed and after contacting a contractor and finding out it was going to cost around $1000 to get this done, we decided to do it ourselves. Extensively researching the pros and cons of gas and electric pressure washers and settling on electric and finding out about the water cooled X series line from Karcher, we selected this model. The performance of this unit is nothing short of amazing. We watched YouTube videos about the Karcher product line and decided to buy several additional accessories which was a great move as well. The two included "wands" work really well, but having the power scrubber brush to do the decks, the angled gutter cleaner and the extension set has helped greatly with our projects. We additionally bought a plain and rotating brush to wash our cars. The unit and accessories are all very well made and are holding up fine after long days of use. After reading how some models of electric pressure washers do not hold up to hours of use, I imagine the water cooled Karcher models are the only way to go for those that have big projects. We can easily carry the entire unit upstairs, throw a rope over the deck tying onto a hose pulling it up to the deck and connect to the pressure washer. Working areas from our upstairs that would be so problematic to deal with, with a gasoline model. No running back and forth up and down stairs, the unit is much quieter than gasoline, no smells extra expenses or problems with storage of gasoline.Read more ›
