Product Description

The original chair was designed using technology for molding plywood that the Eames developed before world war II. Charles and his friend, designer of the Womb Chair, Eero Saarinen entered the LCW (lounge chair wood) along with a variety of other pieces into the Museum of modern arts "Organic Furniture Competition" in 1940. Charles and Eero won the competition. However, production of the initially designed chairs was postponed due to the United States entry into WWII. Our Eames Style Plywood Lounge chair (LCW lounge chair wood) reproduction has the good posture of civility and solid form, while feeling as familiar as an old friend, as it may remind you of your chair and desk in elementary school only much more comfortable. Leather black and white or brown or white "cow hide" covers are available in addition to wood and are a whimsical, practical use of space. The curiously modernist design combined with the Pony Skin "Western style" look will generate discussion and will encourage a relaxed, mellow mood to any gathering. Kardiel's reproduction of the original Lounge Chair in Wood (LCW) Eames chair is made in true form to the original which was first produced in 1946. It is no accident that this reproduction has the most quality features, all designed to ensure long lasting service and great design. The plywood is molded to the exact curvature and dimension creating soft contours that invite you to relax and stretch your legs out. The exact back and seat tilt angle puts the sitter in the unique position originally intended. This high quality reproduction features all of the quality construction points and has the good posture of civility and solid form at a fraction of the original cost.

2 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Kenneth J. Garcia on July 30, 2013
Contrary to their ad, Kardiel has not been helpful regarding my desire to return the chairs and obtain a refund. They continue to say they'll get back to me as the weeks go by.

I purchased 6 of these chairs. The assembly is simple. A screw through the chair back, some large rubber washer, and then into hardware that has been screwed into the stem.

The hardware in the stem is held on by three small screws that do not mount flat to the hardware and come apart with regular use. The rubber washer item is crude and cheap. Assemble, the chairs look small. The seat slope downward to below 15", which makes it likely with a normal sized table you will be too low to look over your food.

The chairs are shoddy and the companies response has not lived up to their ad.
