Continuing the story ...,
By
This review is from: Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances, Vol. 8 (Paperback)
If you watched the Kare Kano anime and were left hanging by the abrupt and inconclusive ending, here is where you need to begin to resume the story. The group is still in preparations for the play they are going give. Tonami's trying to patch his friendship with Arimi. Finally, the part I like, things between Tonami and Sakura get juicier and more complicated. If you liked the anime, you'll like the manga, so just do yourself a favor and buy it (and the next ones in the series too). Otherwise, you'll always be wondering what happens. (Note that I have not read the previous volumes of the manga.) Also, there is a short novella at the end of the manga that takes up nearly a third of the book. That story has nothing to do with Kare Kano, but is still an interesting shoujo story in itself.

Kare Kano is a Japanese high school drama that my girlfriend got me into. As a guy I am embarrassed to say that I like it. I am, however, hooked and I will own the whole series before the year is out.

The group is still preparing for the play. Well, I did still like it. They finish the costumes and the play is about to start. While this is happening, Arima is questioning less about his relationship after thinking about his bad side. Tonami finally confesses his love to the girl who bullied him, and they both kiss.. again! He also is scared of Arima after hearing that Arima hates it when guys and even girls talk to Miyazawa. (Yay I remembered the name instead of Yukino!)
This was a very great volume. In the end of the volume, I get a little confused after another story comes up about a guy and a girl who used to be friends, but the male picks on her. It wasn't much to help me remember the names but it was still a nice story and an also funny one. It's really heartbreaking too. You'll see. This really is worth continuing the series, unless you just want things to get over with. The series is going by slow but smoothly. Although, I'm getting a little aggravated, I'm also enjoying the series a little more. Hey, I got to finish it.

Where Episode 26 left off...,

Kare Kano, my guilty pleasure on those down days. Like so many other fans of this anime, I was stunned at the abrupt end and was anxious to find out what happens with the student's culture festival as Miyazawa and the gang get ready. Plus, look for more on Tonami and Sakura's unexpected situation and I love how things are between Tonami and Arima whose dark past continues to linger. This manga just never fails to keep a smile on your face and the continuity and spirit from the anime is still present in Masami Tsuda's work. For all you diehard Pero Pero fans, keep on reading!

Yawn,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances, Vol. 8 (Paperback)
This book was boring. I didn't really care about the blossoming romance between tonami and tsubaki. When I read volume 7, I thought that this was going to be the book with the cultural festival in it, but nooooooooooo. This book is just filled with boring conversations. Whatever happened to Yukino's looks? She was SOOOO pretty in the first book, but the artist seems to have made pictures of her seem so plain now. By the way, the short story in the back of the book, it was S(...) lame. It's just about this timid little girl and this giant stupid guy who loves the girl, stalks her, teases her, and is just (...)the next book!
