The Fairhope Writers Group started in 2007, as a result of a Creative Writing Course that we enjoyed at the University of South Alabama Fairhope campus and sponsored by the Alabama Literary Arts Council.
Our members include: Vicki Armitage, Karen Bonvillain Bull, Roger C. Bull, Robert M. Glennon, Ken James, Ron Meszaros, Jule Moon, Phyllis Pittman and Joe Worley.
We meet weekly, read our latest material for ten minutes and provide supportive critiques for ten minutes. That drives us to more and better writing.
Our first group book, "Fairhope Anthology" was published in 2011. It has become the best selling book by any author sold in the premier independent bookstore, Page and Palette, in Fairhope. The only restriction that we apply to our stories, of varied genres, is that each submission must contain an aspect, person or event of, from or about Fairhope.
Our stories are an eclectic collection of vignettes about the colorful people and events of internationally known Fairhope, Alabama, situated on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay.
2013 is the year of our second book, "Fairhope Anthology: Second in a Series."
