5.0 out of 5 stars Fun!
My cat Parker LOVES his clicker! He is so willing to please since I started clicking with him. And actually meows until we can click together! He has become so much more affectionate also, and is becoming the lap cat I never wanted! But as long as he enjoys it, we will continue to click!

2.0 out of 5 stars Just get the book
The book looks ok, although I haven't really gotten a chance to use the techniques. However, the clicker that came with my kit doesn't make any sound whatsoever. Apparently other people didn't get broken ones, but I did. It's not worth shipping back, so I'm just going to buy a new clicker that actually works.

Meanwhile, my cats hate the shriveled up little...

It is impressive how you can educate your cat. Our cat responds pretty good to the clicker but unfortunately, I am not working with him every day. Easy to read, definetely worth buying!

Meanwhile, my cats hate the shriveled up little treats that came in the kit. They sniff them, lick them, and then ultimately leave them partially re-hydrated on my floor. So I'm going to have to figure out something else to use for treats. Really wish I'd just gotten the book and skipped the kit.

Although I haven't gotten too far into the training yet the book is easy to read and makes sense.

4.0 out of 5 stars Getting Started: Clicker Training for Cats Kit -How to clicker train your cat to do what you want it to do, May 14, 2008

This was a purchase I made as a gift for my daughter and her 12 year old son.
I purchased a similar 'kit' pertaining to dogs for myself and have found it very helpful as well as interesting for my use with dogs I own.
My daughter has a young cat and an older dog.
Since "you cannot teach an old dog new tricks" ( that's a joke, because really you can :) ha,ha ), I decided she would enjoy this set for her cat to be stimulated to learn new things for not only her and her son's amusement, but for the cat to having something to do as well.
Perhaps, the cat can amuse the dog while 'mom' is away for the day at work and the son is at school...
I have been using the Dog Clicker Training version of this 'kit' and have had great success so far in teaching not only a 10 week old Lab puppy, but also some success with two older Golden Retrievers.
With dogs, and most animals, food is the magic wand, along with the clicker that stimulates their reactions to your training. The 'enforcer'.
I think dogs especially, could have a tag on their collar that says, "Will work for FOOD!" and it would certainly be the truth :)
This is a great introduction to a world of communication with animals of various types --- dogs, cats, birds, horses, llamas, even fish etc. !
A fascinating topic and gives great insight into communication with animals. It definitely makes working with your animal companions more stimulating and fun :)
