I, too, eagerly await release of this DVD. I've been kicking myself for recording over my VHS tapes of Karen Sisco during the wonderful season it was on the air. Outside of anything Aaron Sorkin (West Wing, Sports Night) writes and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "NYPD Blue," network television lacks the sort of smart, funny, clever, and thoroughly entertaining shows like Karen Sisco was. The networks never knew how to market the program. But I've got to echo what the other folks here have written. Now if only the studio would get its act together and release this already. For heavens sake, just about every lousy, dumb show to make it on the air has made it to DVD. Why not put a brilliant show like this on DVD for discerning people to enjoy?

This show had the nerve to give its heroine a complex personality and life and a great relationship with her father and have her deal with complicated issues while doing her job. In that way, while being much different in tone, it was the same as "The Inside", which was about another female protagonist in law enforcement. These were both great shows, similar in some ways also to "The Closer". I think the only reason "The Closer" survives and the other two don't is that "Closer" is on cable where ratings don't need to be as high. Both "Karen Sisco" and "The Inside" were as good as (or potentially even better than) "The Closer", which is a critic's darling. Why are these shows not out on dvd yet? They're great. People buy the dvds of quality shows. Don't the studios understand that yet?

I only saw two episodes of this show but thought it was brilliant. I've signed up with Amazon to be notified when it becomes available and will buy it instantly. Carla Gugino is a fabulous actress and I'll be frank, a totally hot babe also. The scripts were great. One of network TV's rare triumphs. So of course they cancelled it.

This was an excellent show. The stories were engaging and the father/daughter chemistry between Carla Gugino and Robert Forster was outstanding. The poker cronies needed a little work but that was the only minus I saw in a show full of pluses.

Karen Sisco was one of those shows that had everything going for it.Carla was an excellent lead actress that did not have to overplay her sexiness with high priced call girl made for TV clothing. Her character was tough, smart and sexy.Robert Forester and Bill Duke were perfect cast in their roles.I was completely into this show and it was one of 3 that I never missed. It was way beyond most of the Trash on television now.It seems smart shows get the axe on NBC,ABC or CBS major networks.Because of their lust for immediate ratings satisfaction Karen Sisco never even got a chance to grow.It really would have survived on FOX or FX which thrive on intelligent edge cutting series.I wrote a letter of protest to the network Jersey/Universal when without a word the series was gone. The same thing happened to the series Keen Eddie and I wrote a letter of protest to them also. They did release the episodes of Keen Eddie on DVD but they were so Cheap they had the nerve to remove the original Music which was Kickin British Punk,Mod,New Wave with a Techno crap sound track.Anyway,I still await the release of Karen Sisco on DVD.

Yes, this series had it all. Great stories, great setting, and great acting. Who on earth decided to cancel this show? Probably the same people canceled Star Trek. I can't wait for a complete set to come out on DVD.
