About the Author

As a hospital radio DJ, Karl filled news bulletins with strange-but-true stories and used the transmitter to broadcast pirate radio, so was sacked and moved to Manchester's Piccadilly Radio, where he hosted a late-night show filled with impenetrably cryptic puzzles. He then moved to Xfm in London, where he was producer and later a star of Xfm's Ricky Gervais Show, forerunner of the podcasts. --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

For those of us who can't get enough of the Ricky Gervais Show, Karlology is a great fix! This book is no different than the last... if not better. As Steve Merchant said, it's a great book to keep in the bathroom LOL Karl's state of mind and wit are a real treat throughout the book, just as they are in the podcasts and old XFM shows. Brilliant :)

You have to be open minded and have a good sense of humor to buy this book. I bought this book as a gift for my b/f, but I actually started reading it myself and its one of those books that you read when you want to have a good laugh. I listen to Ricky Gervais podcasts on and off and Karl is basically the person that adds the comedy to the show. If you're one that gets easily offended or don't like dry humor, I would not recommend this book. The tone of the book can sometimes sound like a man-child writing in his journal. This is a very nice short read for humor.

For those of you familiar with Karl Pilkington, the opportunity to take a walk inside his mind is a prospect both exciting and terrifying in equal measure. This book delivers just that, and is a hilarious compilation of anecdotes and stories from Karl's unique perspective on the world.

Written in a first-person stream of consciousness style and filled with hilarious digressions and misguided observations, Karlology's chapters each focus on a single trip by Karl to an exhibition or museum. In Karl's never ending quest for knowledge, each visit is an opportunity to explore a different area of academic interest, from science, to art to the human body. Each chapter recounts, first person, Karl's confused, bemused and distracted response to the facts he is presented with. Things that to any normal person would seem mundane or ordinary suddenly take on a new perspective - and hilarity ensues.

Karl Pilkington's random thoughts, ideas, and sketches. This is worth every read and re-read Ive given it. Perfect for when youre bored or feeling down. Karl really has a brilliant and unique mind. I hope to get my copy signed one day! My copy does have a different cover than is pictured here, it is a black and white of him sitting at a desk sort of leaning on an elbow. This book explains some of Karl's upbringing here and there with stories of his day to day, thoughts on the human mind etc. Font size is larger, probably a 14, and has 219 pages, many with large photos and drawings. Youll get through it quick but keep it on the coffee table!

Laugh out loud funny. The only thing I didn't like was that the book wasn't long enough! . . .
