"Karma Peace by Connie M. Van Cleve is a definite page-turner. The author pulls you in right from the start and it is easy to become caught up in the characters and their physical and spiritual journeys as they travel throughout India.

The main character, Karma Peace, is on a quest to find out more about the past life dreams and visions she is having. Karma is in a mid-life crisis and has left her family in America to embark on a journey to India to find answers about her past and write about them.

The author draws you in more and more as each chapter progresses. The other characters Karma meets and answers that she finds are not always what you would think. I enjoyed the elements of surprise and meta-physical aspects that were experienced by each character. They offered a unique perspective and that is what made it so enjoyable.

The story is set in India and it became quite real to me. It is obvious that the author has travelled throughout India herself. The visual picture that Connie paints of the experience, the people and the country is stunning.

This is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read in 2010 and I will be recommending it to family and friends. Congratulations on your first novel Connie and I look forward to reading more from you."

Van Cleve has a way of instantly getting inside a character's head so they jump off the page and straight into your heart. Karma's confounding confusion and emotional pain really resonated with me as did her frantic desperation to change her situation. I was totally swept up in her journey and quest to understand all the bizarre pieces of her life & past and how they threaded into the fabric of her identity.

And the rich descriptions of India, clearly derived first hand, were as authentic as the diverse and fascinating characters. Their stories are woven together so carefully that all their seemingly jagged little pieces eventually fall together into this one brilliant vision of self-awareness. It's truly an inspired work.

Format: Paperback
Karma Peace is an inspirational, thought provoking story that asks the reader to examine the history of their own soul. The heroine's plight will resonate with anyone who is searching for a way to exist peacefully in the present, while settling karmic debts of the past. I enjoyed the way the author brought 'India' to life with her down-to-the-detail descriptions; I even think I know how India smells now! I absolutely loved this beautiful story of courageous transformation and personal growth, and would recommend it to all Spiritual/Metaphysical/Magical Realism book-lovers whole-heartily!

I read Karma Peace a while back but the story stayed with me and I find myself thinking of it again and again. I loved the elements of past lives, discovery, the protagonist's journey and enjoyed traveling with the character. I'm looking forward to another book by this author.
